Release list
ble_log_console_v1.1.0
This release adds capture from the USB Output port, decodes the internal BLE Log frames that carry device-side statistics, and makes loss accounting and save-failure reporting accurate.
What's New
- USB Output capture: Record from the DUT's USB CDC-ACM port with
--mode usb, in addition to UART and the USB-SPI Bridge. - Device identification: Internal snapshot and version information frames are decoded, and the status bar shows the chip name and revision reported by the DUT.
- Per-source loss accounting: Frame sequence numbers are tracked as one global stream, and firmware-side loss is attributed per source and per segment, so a recording reports where data was lost instead of only how much.
Improvements
- Recording file synchronization failures no longer pass silently: the quality report marks the recording for a repeat capture and keeps the raw data already written.
- Bilingual configuration guides added; the user guides and the intake skill were refreshed.
- UART and SPI Bridge now share one serial transport implementation, covered by tests that drive a real PTY.
Usage Note
End recordings with Stop & Review, q, or Ctrl+C, and wait for finalization to finish. Closing the terminal directly may leave the final data and report incomplete.
ble_log_console_v1.0.4
This version improves redirected serial console log handling.
ble_log_console_v1.0.3
BLE Log Console Release
This release improves BLE Log Console stability and performance during high-throughput captures.
The capture backend has been redesigned so raw log saving is separated from live parsing and UI rendering. Raw .bin capture is now the reliable path: if data is accepted by the IO stage, it must be written to disk, and any writer failure is reported clearly.
Live parsing and statistics are optimized with batching and metadata-only frame events, reducing memory usage and UI stalls when the parser temporarily falls behind. A native Cython checksum fast path is also included when available to improve parser throughput.
Main Changes
- More reliable raw
.bincapture - Faster calculation with optional Cython acceleration
- Improved packaged executable behavior
This release is recommended for users capturing BLE logs, especially over SPI bridge.
ble_log_console_v1.0.5
This release adds capture quality reports and improves the workflow for stopping, reviewing, and repeating log recordings.
What's New
- Capture quality review: After recording, view a clear result: Ready for Analysis, Saved with Warnings, or Recapture Recommended.
- Stop & Review: Safely stop recording, save remaining data, and open the quality report. Start another recording with the same settings directly from the report screen.
- Saved reports: A matching
_report.txtfile is saved alongside each capture for troubleshooting and sharing with technical support. - Language selection: Choose English or Chinese for warnings and quality reports.
Improvements
- Refined segment-based quality reporting, including sequence continuity checks and firmware write-failure statistics.
- Clearer distinction between raw data saved and data covered by the quality check. Incomplete checks are marked as unverified.
- Shorter English and Chinese user guides, updated screenshots, and refreshed PDF documentation. Source setup and command-line references are now available in the README.
-- Made a warning for cases where no logs are parsed more prominent. If this happens, please check the configuration.
Usage Note
End recordings with Stop & Review, q, or Ctrl+C, and wait for finalization to finish. Closing the terminal directly may leave the final data and report incomplete.
ble_log_bridge_v1.0.0
This release introduces BLE Log Bridge, a standalone utility for forwarding BLE logs from a target device to the host environment.
BLE Log Bridge uses an ESP32-P4 as the bridge device. BLE-related logs are collected from the target device through the SPI interface and then transferred to the host for logging with USB.
