Making the pain worth it.

more than a minimum viable client, perhaps! doesn't look exactly as nice as i want it to. it feels nice. it's getting there.

added:

  • a featured profile tab, for users that have more than one pinned post
  • a likes tab (favourited posts for mastodon, reacted-to posts for misskey)
  • new icons! the old ones were too thin. these ones are nice and chunky. looks a lot better.

fixed:

  • posts viewed from the photo grid should be less obnoxiously letterboxed
  • you can now like, repost or comment on a post viewed from the photo grid
  • you can now use the emoji picker from the photo grid (hold down on the like button! try swiping up!)
  • pinned posts now no longer show up at the top of every profile feed (possibly a misskey only thing)
  • pruned a bunch of string literals, to make this app actually translateable
  • because of the above, this app should be somewhat readable in chinese, portuguese and spanish!

broke:

  • a bunch of localizations. they were unfinished and implemented badly because the strings.xml was a mess. i'll add more languages to this over time
  • tab chips on the home page look fine, but they don't match the tab chips everywhere else, and that annoys me.

TODO

there is no video player. this app doesn't have videos. go download loops, or something.
should probably disable federated direct messaging for pixelfed logins (don't think they support that)
figure out why some images don't load when logged in with pixelfed
image upload support for mastodon
image upload support for pixelfed
misskey drive upload support
alternative UI styles (classic ui, full-width images on feeds)
languages
fix the dm chatbox sitting below the navigation bar
fix certain ui elements that should scroll with the page
fix certain ui elements that shouldn't scroll with the page
give reactions a nicer shape
fix the hashtag logo svgs not sitting right with the hashtag text
fix the link logo svg not sitting right with the link text
fix the hashtag popout sheet and make it not hideous
fix the share sheet and also make it less ugly
