Institutions keep asking about throughput and trust assumptions across different privacy L2 designs (FHE VMs, Miden-style constructions, UTXO-based systems like Aztec, prividiums, plasma, TACEO ORAM-MPC, etc.). We should have a single comparison they can refer to.
Proposed scope:
- Define a common comparison schema: throughput, latency, finality model, DA model, proving cost, verification cost, required hardware, decentralization level, trust assumptions.
- Populate the schema for a first batch of systems (at least one example per design family: FHE VM, zkVM rollup, UTXO privacy rollup, prividium/validium, plasma-like, ORAM-MPC).
- Document open questions and uncertainties (for example, where numbers depend on roadmap features).
4.a. Publish as a markdown table and short narrative note in this repo (for example, under a new notes/ or overview/ section) and link from the README.
4.b. Update all the vendors' pages with actual numbers gathered.
