Reports always render visible tables (Code + Cowork)

  • Fixed the recurring "tables aren't visible" defect. The converter relied on docx-js default borders, and in Cowork the converter never runs (no local node/MCP), so agents regressed to borderless defaults — notably python-docx's default Table Normal style (no borders).
  • Converter now sets explicit borders on every table/cell, a bold + D9D9D9-shaded header row, cell margins, and an explicit US-Letter section.
  • exchek-skill-docx SKILL.md adds a mandatory table-rendering spec for the Cowork path (with the python-docx Table Grid trap called out) and a copy-paste delivery-gate check. A new regression test asserts visible borders so it can't silently break again.

Classification memo upgraded to best-in-class

  • Structured § 772.1 "specially designed" catch-and-release (paragraph (a) catch → (b)(1)–(6) release).
  • Determination confidence (High/Med/Low) with a rule routing Medium/Low to a CCATS.
  • Controlling-parameter comparison (quoted CCL threshold ↔ item spec); inline CCL-version pin; Appendix A — draft CCATS (§ 748.3 SNAP-R Block 22(a)/24).
  • Mirrored into the best-practices reference; JSON sibling gains confidence/ccats_recommended/specially_designed.

Docs & license

  • Docs accuracy: disclosed that the hosted api.exchek.us endpoint keeps minimal anonymous operational logs; the plugin remains zero-telemetry.
  • LICENSE v2.0 — DRAFT, pending IP-counsel review. Narrows four "friendly-fire" clauses (service-provider/partner use via new §1A, agent-native use within rate limits, scoped reverse-engineering, records retention aligning with 15 CFR §762.6(a)) while keeping the adversarial armor unchanged. Note: this license version is still under counsel review.

Verification: claude plugin validate --strict passes; 30/30 tests pass; versions aligned at 3.5.0.

Install: /plugin marketplace add exchekinc/exchekskills then /plugin install exchekskills@exchek.
