🦻 Sound for All - MVP Release (v1.0.0)

This is the initial release of Sound for All, submitted for the hackathon!

Sound for All is a privacy-first, system-wide real-time captioning overlay powered entirely by local AI. It doesn't rely on the app you're using (Zoom, Spotify, Discord, Games) to provide accessibility—it intercepts audio at the operating system level and forces accessibility onto every sound your computer makes.

  • Universal Capture: Transcribes audio from any application (System Audio) or your Microphone.
  • 100% Offline & Private: Powered by a locally hosted Whisper AI model. Zero data is sent to the cloud.
  • Ultra-Low Latency: Custom Rust DSP backend processes audio chunks in milliseconds.
  • Neo-Brutalist UI: High-contrast, borderless, transparent overlay for maximum readability.

📥 Installation Instructions:

  1. Download the Sound.for.All_0.1.0_x64_en-US.msi file below.
  2. Double-click to install it on your Windows machine.
  3. Launch "Sound for All" from your start menu.
  4. Select "System Audio" (make sure your speakers/headphones are set as the Windows default), click "Start Capturing", and play any video or audio!
