Hello, I noticed a few issues with manually scrolling through a script while the teleprompter is running.
When Word Tracking and microphone detection are active, it is difficult to scroll through the script manually. The speech tracking sometimes pulls the view back to the current word while I'm trying to browse.
There's also an issue after scrolling and clicking a word to continue from there. The view suddenly jump or scroll upward instead of smoothly continuing from the selected word.
Ideally:
- You should be able to scroll freely while microphone detection is active.
- Scrolling shouldn't automatically select or change the tracked word.
- The view should stay where you scrolled.
- Clicking a word should continue tracking from that word.
- The view shouldn't jump around after selecting a word.
- It should work with both trackpads and regular mouse wheels.
How to reproduce
- Open a longer script.
- Start Word Tracking with microphone detection enabled.
- Scroll away from the currently tracked word.
- Browse through the script and click a word to continue from there.
- The view may jump, scroll upward, or get pulled back unexpectedly.
I've worked on a fix for this and can open a PR with the changes.
Environment
- Textream 1.6.2
- Apple Silicon Mac
- macOS 26
