A standalone 6DoF OpenXR Meta Quest port of Sega AM2's Dreamcast arcade classic 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker (2001), built by reverse-engineering the USA (MK-51064, V1.500) SH-4 binary and extending the mikermak/hotd2-vr / Flycast OpenXR reprojection engine.

Clean-Room Release: This APK contains zero copyrighted Sega ROM data or game assets. You must supply your own legally dumped USA (MK-51064) Dreamcast disc image (.gdi + .bin tracks, or .chd).

✨ What's Included in v0.1.0

• Full 6DoF Stereoscopic 3D Truck Cab: Sit inside the 3D big-rig cabin with a custom planar-depth cab vertex shader that keeps the wooden dashboard, twin gauges, sunglasses, magazine, and windshield pillars completely flat and distortion-free as you look around.
• Overhead Air-Horn Pull Gesture: Physically raise your Left Hand up near visor level (just like yanking a real big-rig horn cord!)—or press Left Y—to blast the air horn with left-hand haptic roar.
• Dual Steering Modes (Thumbstick or 6DoF Virtual Wheel): Steer naturally with the thumbstick, or hold both Left & Right Grips (Squeeze) to grab an invisible 6DoF virtual steering wheel in front of the dash.
• Big-Rig Haptic Telemetry:
  • Diesel Idle & Throttle Rumble: Subtle engine chug at idle that ramps up smoothly with the Right Trigger (Gas) and shudders under hard braking (Left Trigger).
  • Mechanical Gear-Shift Clunk: Crisp right-hand tactile clunk whenever you shift between LOW, HIGH, and REVERSE gears.
  • Crash & Collision Jolts: Real-time camera-shake telemetry delivers heavy dual-controller impact jolts when ramming rival Lizard Tail, smashing through crates, or trading paint with traffic.
• Arcade CRT Color & Specular Pass: Custom vertex/fragment color pass tames LCD specular washout and restores rich Dreamcast CRT contrast at a locked 60/72 FPS.

📦 Installation Instructions (Meta Quest 2 / Pro / 3 / 3S)

1. Install the APK:
   • Install 18wheeler-vr.apk using QuestPorts, SideQuest, or ADB:

     adb install -r 18wheeler-vr.apk
     adb shell appops set com.flycast.emulator.wheeler18 MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE allow

2. Copy Your Game Disc to the Headset:
   • Copy your legally owned 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker (USA) (MK-51064) .gdi + .bin track files (or .chd) into:

     /sdcard/Download/18Wheeler/
     

   • (Note: If your dump includes both a .cue and a .gdi file, only copy the .gdi file and the .bin tracks so the High-Density GD-ROM area boots properly.)
3. Launch in VR:
   • Open App Library -> Unknown Sources -> 18 Wheeler VR on your Quest headset.
   • If prompted on first launch, grant All files access so the app can read /sdcard/Download/18Wheeler/.
