Astryx Component Audit Rubric — Authority Map

Rubric v1.15.3 mapped against repository authority at 4a8ded06fbc33df70829e87ea1a7c3e22131d7b3. Generated 2026-09-07. The rubric's current version may be newer; use this page's per-check classifications until a later mapping supersedes them.

Executive summary

  • 249 checks, 249 unique IDs, no other ID families: Q 12, A 21, T 35 (including T2b), P 42, B 16, D 16, V 16, C 22, X 21, I 21, R 11, L 16.
  • Per-check classifications remain 59 current repository authority, 8 objective external standards, 69 procedural/scoring-only, 16 draft/non-authoritative, 91 missing-owner, and 6 conflict/stale.
  • Fetched origin/main now contains 44 current authority records, including landed spec:AST-029; component authority remains sparse: 9 of 44 Core component specs are current, and 35 are draft.
  • AST-029 is authority: current, phase: accepted. TDD is owned by spec:AST-029/DEC-4 and its FR12 verification row; storage by FR13/DEC-5; scoring and targeted invalidation by FR14–FR15/DEC-6. FR11 keeps auto-merge unavailable until phase: shipped and atomic activation.

Classification legend

Code Classification Meaning
C Current repository authority Exact current record requirement/invariant owns the check, subject to its declared scope.
E Objective external standard A named normative standard supplies the pass/fail outcome; Astryx technique wording is not independently authoritative.
P Procedural/scoring-only The rubric may own how to review, gather evidence, document, or score; it does not define product behavior.
D Draft/non-authoritative citation A matching repository record exists but is authority: draft; it cannot currently gate or justify remediation.
M Missing owner The claim is product/implementation policy but no current record owns it. Wiki prose, implementation, lint, tests, and old PRs are evidence—not authority.
X Conflict/stale assertion The rubric contradicts current authority, contradicts itself, or imposes a stale universal rule.

B12 P Rubric-owned adversarial procedure under spec:AST-029/FR5 completeness; it does not itself define product behavior.
B13 P Rubric-owned review, evidence, documentation, or scoring procedure; not product behavior authority.
B14 X Its escape/top-layer requirement matches spec:AST-027/FR7–FR10, but “z-index follows semantic layer order” conflicts with spec:AST-027/FR4, which forbids global numeric rank/bands.
B15 P Rubric-owned review, evidence, documentation, or scoring procedure; not product behavior authority.
B16 P Rubric-owned bug-fix review procedure. For Night Watch audit-authored behavior tests specifically, spec:AST-029/DEC-4 requires a red-first observable-behavior TDD cycle.

Missing and conflicting authority, grouped by proposed owner

  • Accessibility contract owner (extend spec:AST-020 only for universal outcomes; otherwise component/family owners): A6, A7, A9, A12, A14, A16, A17, A20, A21
  • Theming/StyleX/icon/RSC architecture or contributor-policy owner: Q4, Q6, Q7, T2b, T8, T9, T10, T11, T13, T14, T17, T18, T19, T20, T27, T30
  • Public API architecture/family owner: P1, P6, P14, P15, P18, P19, P23, P24, P30, P33, P37, P41, P42
  • Behavior/design owner: B4, B6, B9, B10, D8, D16
  • React/DOM/code-health architecture or contributor-policy owner: C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6, C7, C8, C9, C10, C11, C13, C16, C17, C18, C19, C20, C21, C22
  • I18n/RTL architecture owner: I1, I2, I3, I4, I5, I6, I7, I8, I9, I10, I11, I12, I13, I14, I15, I16, I17, I18, I19, I20, I21
  • Responsive/composition architecture owner: R2, R4, R6, R7, R8, R9, R10

Conflicts requiring owner resolution

  • A4: Blanket “full APG” requirement conflicts with spec:AST-020/FR2: APG applies only when a current owner adopts that pattern; another standards-valid model may be authoritative.
  • T34: Conflicts with spec:AST-004/FR1 (empty unselected indicator space MUST collapse). Also exposes a current-current conflict: component:Selector/FR3 says every row reserves a column.
  • P9: Uses onChangeAction, while current family:input-fields/FR6 and the rubric’s own P24/P25 use changeAction; family:input-fields/AV5 also says members need not add every optional concept.
  • P17: Stale universal hooks-barrel rule. architecture:public-component-api/INV1 requires package entry-point or component-subpath reachability, not export from src/hooks/index.ts.
  • B14: Its escape/top-layer requirement matches spec:AST-027/FR7–FR10, but “z-index follows semantic layer order” conflicts with spec:AST-027/FR4, which forbids global numeric rank/bands.
  • D11: Directly conflicts with spec:AST-027/FR1 and FR4: z-index is local and has no system-wide semantic rank. Floating order is owned by FR7–FR10/top layer.

Draft design dependencies

  • Motion: A13, T25, D12 → design:motion/DR1–DR5 (draft).
  • State/color: T22, B7, B8, D9, D13 → design:color-emphasis, design:system-states, and design:user-states (all draft).
  • Layout/form: B11, D2–D6, D14–D15 → the corresponding spatial, shape, control-rhythm, typography, reorder, and template design records (all draft).

Landed AST-029 audit-system authority

  • Contract assembly and conflicts: FR2–FR6 require current component/module, family, design, architecture, and system authority plus objective standards; drafts cannot clear findings.
  • TDD remediation: DEC-4 is the operative current decision, with the Verification table’s FR12 row. Night Watch derives the seam from a current contract or established public interface, proves red before production changes, and implements one minimal observable slice.
  • Storage and scoring: FR13/DEC-5 preserve the wiki ledger, PR evidence, and exact-head Check Run split. FR14–FR15/DEC-6 assemble applicable authority without changing weights and invalidate only affected scores.
  • Activation: FR11 keeps every audit PR manual-review-only until AST-029 is phase: shipped and all activation surfaces land atomically.

Cross-cutting stale assertion

  1. The wiki still says AST-029 is draft in the contract-establishment and Night Watch sections. Fetched origin/main is now current/accepted; the wiki should link to the landed record while preserving FR11’s manual-review-only state.

Prioritized migration plan

  1. Stop false BLOCKs first. Resolve A4, T34, P9, P17, B14, and D11; reconcile the current-current spec:AST-004/FR1 vs component:Selector/FR3 conflict; update the wiki’s AST-029 status without enabling auto-merge before FR11 is shipped.
  2. Create the missing high-impact owners. Establish current i18n/RTL and React/DOM contracts, then adopt or explicitly downgrade the unsupported BLOCK-capable theming/API/accessibility checks. Keep rules advisory/procedural until the owner is current.
  3. Promote design deliberately, then rebind scores. Review the draft design records one decision at a time, move accepted requirements to current, update rubric citations to exact IDs, and invalidate only affected component scores per spec:AST-029/FR15.

Notes on scope

  • C does not mean universal when the cited record is a family/component contract; it applies only to linked members. Audit assembly must follow spec:AST-029/FR2, FR14.
  • E credits only the external user outcome. Astryx-specific implementation recipes still need a current owner or remain advisory.
  • P may remain in the wiki because scoring and workflow are the rubric’s legitimate authority. It must not be cited as product behavior authority.
  • No implementation, wiki page, draft record, lint rule, test, or historical PR was treated as product authority.
