Phantom 1.6.1 updates dependencies to resolve 22 GitHub security alerts affecting AnyIO, PyJWT, urllib3, and virtualenv. The fixes cover TLS validation, JWT verification and parsing, HTTP response handling, and virtual environment creation.

The published package now requires patched dependency versions, including the relevant optional and development extras. The plugin and marketplace pin also move to 1.6.1. No Phantom commands or audio analysis behavior have changed.

Update with:

uv tool upgrade phantom-audio
phantom --version

Phantom requires Python 3.10–3.13 on macOS or Linux. Windows installation remains unsupported because Essentia does not publish a Windows wheel.

Validation includes the test suite, dependency audits, repository security checks, strict plugin validation, release archive inspection, and an isolated wheel installation. Connected DAW sessions were not tested for this dependency-only release.
