Android android-v0.1.0-alpha
The first public build: C&C Generals Zero Hour, playable natively on Android.
Skirmish vs AI runs at ~30–60 FPS (native 2800×1752 on a Galaxy Tab S7+), with RTS touch controls (tap-select, drag-box, long-press right-click, two-finger pan, pinch zoom), OpenSL audio, and HOME→resume survival. The real 2003 engine — no emulation, no streaming.
Requirements
- arm64 Android device with a Qualcomm Adreno 6xx/7xx GPU (Snapdragon 855+). Exynos/Xclipse and Mali are not supported yet (#9).
- Your own Zero Hour game files — this APK ships none (Steam, ~$5 on sale).
- No root needed: the Mesa Turnip Vulkan 1.3 driver is bundled and loaded rootlessly.
Install
- Sideload the APK (debug-signed). Samsung users: disable Play Protect adb verification + Auto Blocker.
- Push your game files to
/sdcard/GeneralsZH— instructions. - Launch. First boot compiles shaders (~1–2 min to the menu); later boots are faster.
Known limitations (alpha!)
Campaign / Generals Challenge / video playback are untested (#12); gesture feel is still being tuned in real matches (#11); full list in the docs.
Testing reports are gold — especially from non-Samsung Adreno devices: open a discussion.
Standing on the shoulders of Ammaar Reshi's iOS/iPadOS port, fbraz3/GeneralsX, Fighter19, TheSuperHackers, and EA's GPL v3 source release.
