OpenMoH Arena v0.2.1
OpenMoH Arena v0.2.1 adds an optional modern UI: the menus and HUD of Project: Omaha by JayRewd. It is off by default. You turn it on in MoH Arena Guard 1.0.9: click "Settings" and tick "Use the modern UI". v0.2.1 takes the place of v0.2.0, a pre-release that Guard never started.

MoH Arena Guard 1.0.9 installs this release for you. It asks once for each game folder and keeps that folder up to date from then on. To install by hand:
- Extract the zip into your Medal of Honor: Allied Assault folder, the one that holds
main. It replaces the files of an older release. The zip has amainfolder of its own with one file,zz_moharena_ui.pk3, which goes into yours. - Start
launch_openmohaa_base.exe(Allied Assault),launch_openmohaa_spearhead.exe(Spearhead) orlaunch_openmohaa_breakthrough.exe(Breakthrough), or pick one of them in MoH Arena Guard.
MoH Arena Guard 1.0.9 starts this release and no older one. Guard checks the SHA-256 of openmohaa.exe:
- x64:
6a24619114be760f206a1c63bdca6dac809f6f32dd757b0045e51c1df1531aa4 - x86:
d2c48440bb1916208476e397cea017bf899f851c06ab9ec77c37b5612d3ef000
Each zip also has SHA256SUMS.txt for its executables, its libraries and the pack of the modern UI.
Changes since v0.1.3
- Optional modern UI. Guard 1.0.9 has a box "Use the modern UI" among its game options, which its "Settings" button opens. Ticked, the game starts with the menus and HUD of Project: Omaha in place of the original ones. Unticked, the game looks and plays as it always did. The box is off until you tick it, and a change counts from the next game start.
- The settings menu of the modern UI changes only settings and key binds from a fixed list inside the client, and each of them stays inside MoH Arena's rules. It changes one only when you change its control.
- Four key commands are new, all for the modern UI:
useprimary(takes your primary weapon),toggle_spectate_firstperson(first-person view while you spectate),toggle_scoreboard_cursorandcycle_scoreboard_sort(the mouse cursor and the sort column of the modern scoreboard). MoH Arena's rules allow them. - The files of the modern UI come as one pack,
main/zz_moharena_ui.pk3. Without the pack the game starts with the original UI. - The kill feed of the modern UI has the green and red of the death messages, so in Allied Assault it follows the F7 menu's option "Kill message colors".
- A server can switch on a first-person spectator view for everyone. While the serverinfo key
moharena_firstpersonis1, a spectator who follows a player sees through that player's eyes, in both UIs. A server admin sets it in the Admin tab of Guard's F7 menu. With any other value the modern UI's own setting decides, as before. - Two fixes from Project: Omaha come with that view: the lean no longer moves the eye through a wall, and a wall close to the eye is no longer cut open at wide fields of view.
- A fast turn of the mouse wheel no longer drops your weapon on servers of the original game. Such a server joins the weapon commands of one of its frames, so "previous" and "next" together reached it as "drop". The client now sends a different weapon command only after the server has taken the one before.
- On Allied Assault servers a crouched player is now predicted with the height the server uses (54 units, where it was 60). The view shook while crouched under a low ceiling, as in the tunnel of The V2.
- The sniper scopes of v0.1.3 are part of this release.
Known limits: Project: Omaha built its UI for Allied Assault, so Spearhead and Breakthrough are not complete in it yet. On a server that runs with sv_pure 1 the game cannot read the modern UI's files while you are connected. That is not solved yet, so play with the original UI on such a server.
The modern UI is the work of Project: Omaha by JayRewd, under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later. OpenMoH Arena is not affiliated with or endorsed by Project: Omaha. THIRD-PARTY.txt in each zip names the parts by others and their licences.
Differences from OpenMoHAA
- Windows builds can load the MoH Arena Guard module, which adds the F7 Guard menu and the other MoH Arena features. The module loads only when Guard starts the game and the module file has the SHA-256 that Guard gives. In any other case the game runs like OpenMoHAA.
- An optional modern UI, off by default.
- A first-person spectator view that a server can switch on for everyone who follows a player.
- A weapon command waits until the server has taken the one before.
- On Allied Assault servers a crouched player is predicted with the server's height.
- Same network protocol as OpenMoHAA, so it joins the same servers.

OpenMoH Arena v0.1.3

Each zip also has SHA256SUMS.txt for its executables and libraries.
Changes since v0.1.2
The change needs MoH Arena Guard 1.0.8 or later. Without the Guard module the game runs as before, and nothing new is sent to a server.
- Sniper scopes. The Scope tab of the F7 menu has one card for the Allies rifle and one for the Axis rifle. Each card offers the game's own scope (the default), the other rifle's scope, or a custom one: the lens without its cross, with a black reticle of your own. The reticle is a cross, a T or a dot, and you set its thickness, its gap and its center dot. The Axis card is the scoped KAR98, and the Allies card is every other scoped rifle, as the game itself tells them apart.
- The round opening of the lens and the black bars at its sides stay the game's own, so no choice gives a wider view than the game's own scope. A custom reticle may be finer than the game's cross.
- Single player keeps the game's scopes, and the binoculars are not changed. When you spectate or watch a demo, you see your own choice.
Known limits: the reticle is black only, and a pk3 that replaces the scope pictures or their script changes what is drawn.
The idea of a choice of scopes comes from Project: Omaha. No code and no art was taken from it.

- Windows builds can load the MoH Arena Guard module, which adds the F7 Guard menu and the other MoH Arena features. The module loads only when Guard starts the game and the module file has the SHA-256 that Guard gives. In any other case the game runs like OpenMoHAA.

OpenMoH Arena v0.1.2

Changes since v0.1.1
Both changes need MoH Arena Guard 1.0.7 or later. Without the Guard module the game runs as before, and nothing new is sent to a server.
- Personal mute. Mute on the F7 Players tab hides a player's chat and taunts for you only and silences their taunt sounds, until the map changes or you leave. The other player is not told. A mute goes by the player's Guard account. A player with no Guard account is muted by IP address: Guard gets an id made from the address, never the address itself, and players with no account who share an IP address are muted together. Bots can't be muted.
- Death message colors in Allied Assault. With "Kill message colors" ticked on the F7 Game tab (it is off by default), a death message shows in green when the victim is on the other team and stays red when the victim is on yours. Spectators see Allied deaths in red and Axis deaths in green, and in free for all every death is green. Spearhead and Breakthrough don't change: their servers already send each player a colored death message.
Known limits: with developer 2 the console still shows every server command, muted lines included, and a recorded demo keeps the muted lines.

OpenMoH Arena v0.1.1
OpenMoH Arena v0.1.1 makes in_mouse work as in OpenMoHAA again. The Windows cursor mode that v0.1.0 put on in_mouse -1 now comes from the "Use Windows mouse precision" box in MoH Arena Guard.

in_mouseworks as in OpenMoHAA again:in_mouse -1no longer reads the Windows cursor.- For the Windows pointer speed and "Enhance pointer precision", tick "Use Windows mouse precision" under the game path in MoH Arena Guard 1.0.2 or later. Guard then starts the game with
