DevinX Connector 0.1.0

DevinX Connector is the optional macOS companion for DevinX. It lets an iPhone securely view and steer supported Devin sessions running through Devin for Terminal on a Mac you control.

Why Connector is required for computer sessions

Cloud-only DevinX users do not need Connector. For computer sessions, Tailscale and Connector perform different required jobs: Tailscale supplies the private encrypted network route, while Connector is the trusted local service that communicates with Devin for Terminal, authenticates each iPhone, and enforces its permissions. A Tailscale IP, server URL, or password is not sufficient unless compatible server software is already installed and running at that address.

Requirements

  • macOS 13 or later on Apple silicon
  • Tailscale signed into the same tailnet as the iPhone
  • Devin for Terminal installed and authenticated on the Mac

Install

  1. Download both release assets below.

  2. Verify the download:

    shasum -a 256 -c DevinX-Connector-0.1.0-macos-arm64.dmg.sha256

  3. Open the DMG and drag DevinX Connector to Applications. A non-administrator can instead use the Applications folder inside their home directory.

  4. Open DevinX Connector, scan its pairing code from DevinX on iPhone, then approve the requested permissions on the Mac.

Security and privacy

  • Signed with Developer ID, notarized by Apple, stapled, and accepted by Gatekeeper.
  • SHA-256: 659142d305644b42f1c29302faea0ebeded1dbb0085a09bb0512d1ce51710d73
  • Devin credentials remain in the Mac Keychain and are not copied to the phone.
  • The Connector binds to the selected private Tailscale address and verifies every paired device and permission.
  • No root daemon, public tunnel, analytics SDK, or silent updater is included.
  • MIT license notices are included in both the app and disk image. Security reports can use private vulnerability reporting.

Release validation passed lint, type checking, 575 tests, the Connector bridge build, source secret scanning, Apple notarization, Gatekeeper assessment, checksum verification, and a clean copied-install lifecycle. The npm audit reported zero high or critical findings. Remaining moderate upstream advisories are confined to the Expo/mobile toolchain and are not imported by the Connector source.

Current scope

This release supports Apple-silicon Macs. Windows, Linux, and Intel Mac packages are not included yet.
