Releases: ferax564/OrgFlow
Release list
OrgFlow v2.6.0
The Windows build is not code-signed: in SmartScreen choose More info → Run anyway. The macOS build is not code-signed: right-click OrgFlow.app and choose Open the first time; it cannot update itself automatically.
Seating plans: draw the office, trace an existing floor plan, lay out desks and seat people by position. Workspace data format is unchanged (document version 3); the seating plan is an optional new field and 2.5 files open as-is.
- Seating plans: a new Seating tab (
5) for drawing rooms and assigning desks. Draw a room as a rectangle or corner by corner with right-angle snapping and live wall lengths, then reshape it by dragging corners. Add desks one at a time, or drag an area to fill it with benches of two or single rows. Move, rotate, duplicate and nudge desks on a 10 cm–1 m snap grid. Desks outside the walls or overlapping another desk are flagged. On touch screens, dragging empty floor pans the plan. - Desks belong to positions, so one shared floor plan shows the occupants of whichever scenario is active. Assign by dragging a name onto a desk, choosing from the desk panel, or Auto-seat by team. Seating someone who already has a desk moves them, and hot desks stay unassigned. The position editor shows the desk.
- Rooms of any shape: rectangle, L, U and T presets; walls drawn with right-angle and 45° snapping; resizing keeps the shape.
- Floor plan images: import or drop a PNG, JPEG, WebP or SVG plan under a room, set its scale from two points of a known distance, move it into place, adjust its opacity or hide it, and trace the walls over it. Plans are downscaled, embedded in the workspace and included in the room PNG export.
- Seating CSV and room PNG export. The plan is saved in the workspace as an optional
seatingfield. Older 2.x builds keep it unchanged as an unknown field. Shared-host conflict merges include it, and subtree-scoped members do not receive it. - Room outlines whose walls cross or touch each other are rejected. Undo keeps one copy of each floor-plan image rather than one per step, and local "Earlier versions" leave the images out and take them from the current plan on restore.
- Browser regression suite grows to 38 tests (drawing walls and room shapes, desk blocks and editing, assignment across scenarios with export and reload, touch panning, floor-plan import and scaling); seating geometry and validation have 19 unit tests.
Upgrade notes
No data migration. A 2.5 build that opens a 2.6 workspace keeps the seating plan untouched but cannot show or edit it. On a shared enterprise host, update the server to 2.6 before using seating: 2.5 servers do not withhold the seating plan from subtree-scoped members. Floor-plan images count toward the 12 MB workspace limit (about 1.9 MB per plan, 6 MB in total).
OrgFlow v2.5.0
The Windows build is not code-signed: in SmartScreen choose More info → Run anyway. The macOS build is not code-signed: right-click OrgFlow.app and choose Open the first time; it cannot update itself automatically.
Stable release of the 2.5.0-rc.1 candidate, focused on ease of use: one place for files, a tidy filters panel and faster keyboard work. Workspace data format is unchanged (document version 3); 2.4 files open as-is.
- File menu in the header gathers New, Open (⌘O), recent files, Save (⌘S), Save as… (⇧⌘S), auto-save, CSV import, backups and Recovery. The Share menu now only shares and exports charts and data.
- Save-status chip next to the company name shows at a glance whether the chart is saved to a file (green), only kept in this browser (amber), saving (pulsing) or failed (red). The tab title shows the file name and a • for unsaved file changes. First Save suggests a file name from the company name.
- Start page replaces the welcome tour: continue the current chart, open a file or a recent file, or create from a blank organization, the two samples or three starter templates.
- Drag and drop a
.json/.orgflowfile anywhere to open it, or a.csvto review an import. - Reorganised filters panel: search and capacity totals stay pinned on top; filters (type, group, site, hiring, approval, date) and display settings (levels, card details, saved views) are collapsible sections with
All/2 of 5badges and remembered open state. Show all / Hide all per filter. Custom tag management moved under Position type. Data, examples and update buttons left the panel. - Hide the panel on desktop with the new toggle in the planning bar or
[(remembered); on phones the same control opens it as an overlay with a close button. - Keyboard shortcuts dialog (
?) and new single-key shortcuts:/search,Nadd position,+/−zoom,0fit,1–4switch views, arrow keys inside menus. Single keys never fire while typing. - Header decluttered: People button, undo/redo icons, branding and help in a ⋯ menu (which also carries People and the palette on phones). Distinct icons for expand/collapse versus zoom in the chart toolbar.
- The status chip also stays amber while a shared-server save is pending and turns red when it fails.
- Release pipeline: merging a version bump to
mainbuilds, tags and publishes the release automatically, with notes from this changelog. Builds are signed per platform when signing credentials are configured and otherwise ship unsigned (the release notes say so);-rcversions publish as pre-releases, which the desktop updater ignores. - Browser regression suite grows to 32 tests covering the File menu, sidebar badges and persistence, Start page, shortcuts and file drop.
Upgrade notes
No data migration. Panel layout preferences are stored per browser. Scripts or bookmarks that clicked sidebar buttons such as Load Harbor & Co should open the Start page first (openWelcome(true)); element IDs are unchanged.
OrgFlow v2.5.0-rc.1 — unsigned release candidate
Unsigned release candidate. Windows SmartScreen and macOS Gatekeeper will warn; see the README for how to open it.

OrgFlow 2.4.0-rc.2 — unsigned release candidate
OrgFlow 2.4.0-rc.2
Unsigned release candidate. This release is ready for evaluation, not a signed production desktop rollout. Apple notarization, Windows signing, and a real signed N → N+1 upgrade drill remain required before stable promotion. Existing stable installations do not automatically receive this prerelease.
Changes
- Native desktop Open / Save As, recent org charts, external-file conflict protection, and explicit browser file reconnection.
- Check for updates → Download → Save and restart, with required saves before installation. Windows automatic updates require the
windows-setup.exeinstaller; the portable EXE remains available for manual replacement. - Authoritative IndexedDB storage, transactional pending server edits, concurrent-tab protection, isolated account caches, complete recovery checkpoints, and safer journal rotation.
- Working offline interactive HTML with expandable teams, search, zoom and redacted data.
- Verified OIDC login, browser-bound state, invitation-based membership, expiring scoped API tokens, proposal idempotency and assigned-reviewer approval.
- Consistent database backup/restore, readiness checks, retention, non-root containers, expanded OpenAPI documentation and updated Electron dependencies.
Validation
112 domain/server tests; a 28-test browser suite across Chromium, Firefox and WebKit; native Electron lifecycle checks on Windows, macOS and Linux; lint, syntax/wiring checks and dependency audit. Firefox/WebKit skip user-picked writable-file tests because they use downloaded backups. Operating-system dialogs are automated in native tests; signing and real update delivery are not certified by mocked updater tests.
See validation, production gates, and host operations.
Before upgrading
Export a .orgflow backup and retain the previous data directory until recovery is verified. Legacy API tokens migrate to read-only and expire within 30 days; issue scoped replacements. Empty production OIDC tenants require BOOTSTRAP_ADMIN_EMAIL. Shared-host reviewers must be administrator email addresses. macOS ZIP supports Intel and Apple Silicon; Linux and Windows builds are x64.
All release tests and builds passed. Update manifest filenames and sizes match the uploaded artifacts. Candidate 1 was not published because CI found an empty signing-secret packaging configuration; candidate 2 fixes that build configuration.
v2.3.0
What's Changed
Document identity, recoverable bundles, and a shared workspace for the UI, REST API and MCP. Builds on 2.1.1.
Correctness
- Shared-host edits stay blocked while the server document is still applying, so they cannot vanish into an unsaved baseline.
- Large-chart search only forces the current match into the DOM.
- Redacted occupied seats are styled as assigned, not vacant.
Documents
- Workspaces write version 3 (version 2 still loads). Older 2.0/2.1 writers refuse the file instead of dropping fields.
- Export an OrgFlow bundle (
.orgflow) with the workspace plus checkpoints; restore brings those checkpoints back. - Desktop Recovery center lists leftover
http://127.0.0.1:<port>profiles from pre-orgflow://builds and can restore a parsed copy.
API / MCP
- Org queries include
context: workspace id, revision, scenario, as-of date, server version and scope. - HTTP and stdio MCP both announce
2025-11-25and the app version. - New tools:
get_workspace_status,get_changes_since,preview_proposal,validate_proposal,explain_capacity_gap,create_share_snapshot. GET /api/openapi.json. The host keeps the last 30 document versions. Agents still cannot approve or apply.

v2.1.1
What's Changed
Patch on the 2.1 storage and interactive-sharing release. Workspaces stay ready before the first shared-host edit, search hits remain visible on large charts, and redacted interactive HTML no longer labels occupied seats as vacant.
- Shared-host takeover no longer marks the session ready while
workspaceis still null (Firefox CItest_18). - Validated budgets and other management collections survive extras merge.
- Desktop journal save is synchronous, so quit-after-save still hits disk.
- Virtualized org charts keep search matches in the DOM.
