What's New

  • Dynamic version string: Version is now automatically extracted from git tags (git describe --tags --dirty). No manual version updates needed — just create a new tag and the UI will reflect it.

  • Version display: Version shown in both the tray tooltip and the context menu (e.g., "MonitorSwitcher 1.5.1")

  • Documentation: README and AGENTS guides updated to reflect the new versioning system

Technical Details

  • Makefile now defines VERSION using git describe --tags --dirty with fallback to dev for builds outside a git repository
  • Version passed to compiler via -DVERSION_STRING flag
  • The -dirty suffix indicates uncommitted changes in the working tree
