Fixes found in a stability review and confirmed on a live Desktop profile.

Fixes

  • A finished edit review closes its card. Settling a review announced nothing, so the "edit review" card stayed in the sidebar forever. It now broadcasts review/settled and drops out of the host's pending list.
  • Refresh rounds no longer overlap. One round can issue up to four RPCs against a 4-second tick, so a slow host let rounds pile up. Rounds run one at a time, and the next tick is scheduled after each one finishes.
  • The first paint is no longer blocked by session selection. The transcript loads after the first render instead of holding it back.
  • The SSE stream keeps itself alive and repairs a reconnect. The host pings every 30 seconds, replays the last 200 reveal frames through a new resync route, and the browser half sweeps on reconnect — a dropped link used to lose the tool-card buttons silently.
  • Failures are visible. Remote calls and broadcasts used to fail inside empty catch blocks; they now warn once a minute per method or channel.
  • No host connected means less polling. The panel drops from 4 seconds to 15 instead of re-rendering an unchanged view.

Known limitations

  • With more than one DSH process running, requests go to the instance that connected first; there is no per-session routing between hosts.

First release — verified end-to-end against DSH 0.2.0-rc.2, 0.2.1-rc.1 and 0.2.1-rc.2.

Highlights

  • Approvals and questions in VS Code — native notifications for approvals, a sidebar card for ask_user_question with single-select, multi-select and custom answers. Nothing pops up outside the sidebar.
  • Editor context for the agent — an ide_context tool fed by the active file, diagnostics and selection.
  • Selection to composer, a status-bar reveal of the last touched file, and a ↗ button on file tool cards in the web UI.
  • Sidebar — transcript, inline approvals, model / reasoning-effort / permission pickers, + menu with the native slash commands, sessions grouped by DSH workspace and scoped to your VS Code folder.
  • Prompt completion — predicts your next message when a turn ends; typing cancels it, Tab accepts, ↻ rerolls, Esc dismisses.
  • Full DSH in a tab through the authenticated URL.

Install

  • DSH plugin: dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-editor-link, then make sure dsh-editor-link is listed in dsh.profile.bundles (the GUI does this for you).
  • VS Code extension: download the .vsix below and run code --install-extension dsh-editor-link-extension-0.1.0.vsix --force, then reload the window.

dsh-editor-link-0.1.0.tgz is the exact tarball published to npm (sha1 f919508388ac7bc6935f569fe40007c3f010480c).

Known limitation

Answering a question in VS Code settles the tool result and the session projection, but the DSH client keeps its own reply card until it is dismissed there.
