Claude Code on Android — v1.1.0

What Changed Since v1.0.0

Path B (proot-distro Ubuntu) is now the recommended installation path. It's cleaner — no /tmp workaround, no ripgrep symlink, no TMPDIR hack, no npm. Uses Anthropic's official native installer. Path A remains available as a lightweight alternative.

Three Devices Verified

Device Android Path A Path B
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra 16 Works Works
Google Pixel 10 Pro 16 Works Works
Samsung Galaxy S23+ 15 Untested Works

Two Android versions. Two chipsets (Snapdragon, Tensor). All verified on real hardware with screenshots.

Major UX Overhaul

  • Prerequisites section: F-Droid/Termux installation walkthrough from scratch
  • "Choose Your Path" decision point before any steps begin
  • Path B rewritten with exact verified 9-step sequence
  • CLAUDE_CODE_TMPDIR documented as alternative to proot (official Anthropic env var)
  • Verification test suite: tests/verify-claims.sh tests all documentation claims

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed kernel prerequisite excluding Android 14/15 users
  • Fixed FD limit claim (~1024 → varies by device, measured 32,768)
  • Fixed native installer note (direct: doesn't work in native Termux, works in Path B)
  • Aligned curl across all install methods
  • Stripped private repo paths from public scripts
  • Fixed install.sh shebang for desktop inspection
  • Fixed CODE_OF_CONDUCT contact method
  • Added scope note to termux-safe skill (native Termux only, not proot-distro)
  • Issue templates now collect Path A/B and TMPDIR diagnostic info

File Organization

  • Images moved to assets/ directory
  • Consistent screenshot naming
  • All three device screenshots in README
