Major architectural refactor that splits the monolithic application into focused server/client binaries, migrates to Protocol Buffers for better performance, and simplifies the overall system design.

  • New binaries: acme-manager-server + acme-manager-client (replace single acme-manager)

Binary Split

  • Server: Certificate management, clustering, API
  • Client: Local certificate deployment and sync

Protocol Buffers Migration

Simplified Storage

  • Individual keys per certificate/token/challenge (vs arrays)

  • Added: Better package organization, improved error handling
