Unsigned experimental alpha. Publisher identity is not verified by a code-signing certificate.

First public alpha of PowerTrove: a Windows command bar that offers actions for your current selection — files in File Explorer, cells in Excel, and supported text input.

Experimental alpha. This build has passed the automated build, test, packaging and startup checks, but has not completed the full manual acceptance matrix (clean-machine, accessibility, DPI/multi-monitor, latency and installer upgrade checks). Expect rough edges and use disposable files first.

PowerTrove-v0.1.0-win-x64-installer.exe Per-user installer, no administrator rights required. Adds a Start menu shortcut; startup at sign-in is not enabled automatically.
PowerTrove-v0.1.0-win-x64.zip Self-contained portable build. Extract the whole ZIP to a writable local folder and start PowerTrove.exe there.
SHA256SUMS SHA-256 checksums for both files.

Verify a download in PowerShell with Get-FileHash <file> and compare it with SHA256SUMS. Because the files are not code-signed, Windows SmartScreen may warn before starting them.

Requirements

  • Windows 11 x64
  • No .NET or other runtime installation needed
  • Excel actions: a supported locally installed desktop Excel
  • Media actions that need FFmpeg stay unavailable unless you configure a compatible local FFmpeg installation

Getting started

  1. Select files in File Explorer (or a rectangular cell range in Excel).
  2. Press Alt+Space (changeable in Settings if it conflicts).
  3. Pick an action, review its options and preview, and run it.

File transformations create new files; your originals stay unchanged by default. Cancelling during processing can leave already completed output files, which the result lists. Core processing works offline without an account. Check for updates contacts GitHub only when you click it.

Included in this alpha

  • File actions from Explorer, including ZIP creation, PDF merge and image conversion
  • Excel selection export (CSV/JSON)
  • Settings with configurable shortcut
  • Offline third-party notices (Settings → About)

The action catalog is larger than the set of workflows exercised for this release; an action being listed does not mean it is validated on every machine.

Known limitations

  • Not code-signed: no verified publisher identity, SmartScreen warnings are possible.
  • Full manual acceptance (accessibility with Narrator/high contrast, 150–200 % DPI, multi-monitor, installer upgrade paths) is still outstanding.
  • Unsupported applications or selections show an explicit "unavailable" state with general actions only.
  • No third-party pack loading or hosted marketplace in this release.

Uninstall

Installed copy: Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps. Portable copy: exit the app, then delete the extracted folder. Local preferences are stored separately.

Please report problems via Issues with the app version, Windows (and Excel) version, expected behavior and steps to reproduce. Do not include private file names, file contents, credentials or personal paths.
