How does FTTH optical fiber work?
If you have an Internet connection with fiber optics, you will have noticed that your speed is very high. Currently, most houses already have Fiber Optics, but do you want to know exactly how it works?
Cable internet companies : Fiber optic cables, without pure glass cables of a very thin thickness, capable of transporting data and light over long distances and, above all, at high speed. As we mentioned before, its origins go back to the invention of the photophone and, although at first its application to everyday life seemed very complex, it has been simplified over time.
The optical cables work in groups, and each one of these threads is formed by three well differentiated parts:
Core: this core is a thin filament of glass.
Coating: a layer of reflective material causes the light hitting it to return to the core.
External cover: it is an indispensable plastic layer to protect the optical fiber from different factors, such as humidity.

Once you know what the Optical Fiber parts are, you will ask: How is the information transmitted through it?
Light and data are transmitted along the fiber optic threads through a process called total internal reflection, which consists of the fact that the information circulating through the nucleus constantly collides with the coating. For its correct operation, the optical fiber needs: an optical transmitter, an optical regenerator.
Transmitter: is responsible for emitting the light that circulates through the fiber cables.
Optical regenerator: it is an element that is placed along the thread so that, in case of loss, the signal can be recovered immediately.
Optical receiver: it is one of the most important components, since it is responsible for receiving the light signal and decoding it and returning it as an electrical signal to users.
