Feature: Allow 'Files App' to be opened from other apps as default explorer

What feature or improvement do you think would benefit Files?

Like, when I am using an arbitrary software which lets me open a file explorer, it always uses the default windows 11 file explorer and not Files-App EVEN when I said in the settings (also after restart) that Files-App is now the default file-explorer and I would love for this to change, however I am not sure windows itself lets you do this but in case it is possible I hope you guys can implement this :)

Windows does not provide any official API or ability to set a default app for opening folders, and as such, Windows will always default to using File Explorer, which can't be intercepted.

Until the Windows API allows for it, any ability to use Files in place of File Explorer, will always have some shortfalls.

There isn't anything Files can do about that right now. You should send feedback to the programs that don't work, to use the registry value rather then opening explorer directly.
