How To Add The '--safe-mode' CMD Line Argument To Linux

Hiya, just wondered if anyone has had any joy launching their PWAs in --safe-mode as I was using a PWA to test this (rather pertinent, no?) hardware acceleration issue currently affecting FF 149 and it has borked one of my PWAs.

Luckily it was not a work one! 😅

Still, would be nice to be able to use HW accel. 🙂

I use Debian 12 (Stable), with Gnome (Wayland), but that should not really make a jot of difference, as we're talking about using the commandline or via .desktop files, here. 👍

If it helps, at all ... whether I include the argument at the start or the end of the executable string, I get the error:
unexpected argument '--safe-mode' found

You should be able to specify arguments for the runtime after --, like this:

firefoxpwa site launch ID -- --safe-mode

[filips123]

Although, note that PWAsForFirefox won't apply its patches when running in safe mode, so PWAs won't open properly (but probably as a normal window).

Aye, I did try that ... I'm wondering if I actually need to do something more like this:

~/.local/share/firefoxpwa/runtime/firefox --class FFPWA-FFPWA_ID_GOES_HERE --name FFPWA-FFPWA_ID_GOES_HERE --profile /home/eliot/.local/firefoxpwa/profiles/PROFILE_ID_GOES_HERE --pwa FFPWA_ID_GOES_HERE --safe-mode

Either way, this doesn't need an issue or anything, and I will try again, soon. Thanks so much for your reply, @filips123 !

OK, that is strange, but your answer works, @filips123 ... What I had not done was use the blank '-- ' flag prior to 'safe-mode' then the '--safe-mode' flag. What does the blank flag do? (I am currently searching that down)

Also, what is the '--protocol' flag doing in your default startup shortcuts / .desktop files?

To be precise, I did run it with the following, and that worked, too:

firefoxpwa site launch PWA_ID_GOES_HERE --protocol -- --safe-mode
