SimGolf Remastered for Windows 0.1.25

Repairs for reported crashes, disappearing text, raised-land water and everyday play.

Crash recovery, readable golfer cards, and water that respects raised land.

• Fixes the sound-allocation crash identified in the #69 follow-up. Decoded sounds now have a bounded cache, and allocation failures no longer escape into the game.
• Golfer-card and menu text retry failed font loading, texture uploads and drawing. Smaller uploads reduce memory pressure, and graphics resets rebuild missing text.
• HD water and waterfalls no longer paint across raised landmark foundations and cliffs, which could make landmarks look like they were floating. Original water remains available.
• Adds a per-round Start a story: On/Off choice when pairing golfers in the Clubhouse. On keeps the original story selection; Off starts the pair without a story.
• Repairs negative skill ratings, selected match portraits, shot skill previews, pair compatibility, ranking and Home Site counters, and departure notices in message history.
• Improves Options text wrapping, numbered land-tract selection with a separate Buy confirmation, cut-content help, and the indication when weather is disabled.
• Fixes the clipped award legend on short-course reports and handles map-render allocation failure safely.
• Retains all 0.1.24 features, saves, settings, assets and remastered defaults. Controlled native tests cover the fixes; confirmation on the affected players' PCs remains pending.

Install or update

Download SimGolf-Remastered-v0.1.25-windows.zip, extract it, then run Setup.cmd. For an existing installation, choose its current folder. Setup preserves saved games and player settings. See INSTALL.txt for full instructions.

You must supply your own game files. This download contains no original game files. The optional HD art pack remains a separate download offered by Setup.

Verification

The Windows release package is checked separately from the earlier private preview. Native checks include raised landmark foundations under HD water, four camera rotations, save/reload, graphics resets, golfer-card text recovery and starting a paired round with stories disabled. The required source check has explicit environment-dependent skips. These are controlled tests; affected-PC confirmation and tournament entry eligibility are still open.

Installer safety is covered by automated fixtures. The packaged update was run using previously prepared game data; a fresh disc installation was not repeated for this release.
