SimGolf Remastered for Windows 0.1.27

Restores speed when zoomed out on large courses.

• Fixes a slowdown when zoomed out on large, busy courses that 0.1.26 introduced. Checking the game's lighting data for every shaded sprite made each frame several times slower; the check is cheap again, and a draw that reads released memory is still skipped without HD art instead of crashing.
• Retains all 0.1.26 features, saves, settings, assets and remastered defaults, including the zoom-out crash fix. Controlled zoom tests pass; confirmation on the affected player's PC remains pending.

Install or update

Download SimGolf-Remastered-v0.1.27-windows.zip, extract it, then run Setup.cmd. For an existing installation, choose its current folder. Setup preserves saved games and player settings. See INSTALL.txt for full instructions.

You must supply your own game files. This download contains no original game files. The optional HD art pack remains a separate download offered by Setup.

Verification

The Windows release package was built from the same source as the public commit and run on a hidden desktop through repeated zoom-out, zoom-in and scroll cycles on a large HD course with no crash, at about the frame rate of the original art. The required source check has explicit environment-dependent skips. These are controlled tests; affected-PC confirmation is still open. A fresh disc installation was not repeated for this release.
