SimGolf Remastered for Windows 0.1.28

Safer artwork, input and audio handling.

  • Fixes path-overlay storage when changing rectangular course sizes, and makes HD/menu/report artwork allocation failures safe and retryable.
  • Releases the D3D11 device reference correctly during atmosphere renderer recovery.
  • Cancels stuck camera dragging when a modal report opens or the UI consumes the mouse release.
  • Separates music/effects volume categories from voice limits and WAV size, including credits music and ambience.
  • Clarifies manual Path view controls and automatic placement visibility. Automatic placement visibility is unchanged.
  • Preserves full-screen page precedence over Options course retention and keeps readable stack breadcrumbs at crash-memory boundaries.

Install or update

Download SimGolf-Remastered-v0.1.28-windows.zip, extract it, then run Setup.cmd. For an existing installation, choose its current folder. Setup preserves saved games and player settings. See INSTALL.txt for full instructions.

You must supply your own game files. This download contains no original game files. The optional HD art pack remains a separate download offered by Setup.

Verification

The full available source aggregate passed: 89 stages, zero failed stages and 13 explicit environment-dependent skips, including the 1080p/4K gallery. Windows x86 native/release ALL builds, 35 public regressions, 24 D3D11 initialization/cleanup cycles and 12 repeated real-fault diagnostic tests passed. The assembled package passed Options/title checks and all 19 camera gameplay checks on a muted private hidden desktop using Original dialogs/textures. The merged source tree and executable match that tested candidate exactly. Every previous redistributable package entry is retained.

Fresh-disc installation, physical device-loss recovery, broader skipped gameplay groups and affected-player PCs remain unverified. No GitHub Actions workflows are configured for this release.
