@finna finna released this 14 Sep 22:32

Manage your Herdr agents while gaming. A draggable H opens the agent roster, recent replies, prompt composer, silent alerts, and visibility controls. It uses your existing Herdr setup, including its saved remote machines.

First time using Herdr? Follow the beginner setup guide for why Herdr is useful, installing it, starting agents, connecting the HUD, and adding other computers with SSH or Tailscale.

Downloads

  • Apple Silicon Mac, macOS 13+: Download Herdr HUD.dmg. Open the DMG, drag Herdr HUD.app onto its Applications folder, eject the DMG, then open the app from Applications.
    The Mac app and DMG are now Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple. macOS may still ask you to confirm opening an internet download. If you downloaded an earlier copy, download again and replace it. The Mac ZIP below also contains the signed, notarized app.
  • Windows 11 x64: Herdr-HUD-Windows-x64.zip. Extract the whole ZIP and run Install.cmd, then open Herdr HUD from Start. Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime is required; the .NET runtime is included.
  • Omarchy Quattro: direct-install plugin.

Mac downloads updated September 15, 2026 (UTC): both Mac download URLs now serve the signed, notarized build. The DMG includes an Applications shortcut and installation instructions. The app and DMG have stapled notarization tickets and pass Gatekeeper. Windows binaries are unchanged.

Alpha status

The Windows package remains unsigned and may show an unknown-publisher/SmartScreen prompt. The Mac packages now use Developer ID signing and Apple notarization. No system-wide security settings need to be disabled.

Windows has been used over WoW Classic. Both hosts passed controlled fullscreen-window checks and live local/remote UI checks. Exclusive fullscreen, other games, Intel Macs, Windows ARM64, and broad multi-monitor/login-startup behavior remain unverified. This app does not inject into games or install a driver.

Herdr 0.9+ must already be running. SSH authentication and host trust must already be configured. Remote Mac/Linux hosts need Python 3 for a small stdin-to-socket helper; the HUD does not install files there. Local Mac/Windows prompts use native sockets/pipes and require no Python runtime.

Included fixes and validation

Prompt text stays out of process arguments, including nested SSH. Output is capped while streaming; native command groups/jobs contain descendants and are terminated on timeout or overflow. Agent identity/readiness checks and uncertain-delivery protection remain in place. Mac notifications stay clear of H; Windows badges and notifications respect position and display scaling.

Passed: 19 Swift tests, 16 Windows tests, 12 shared JavaScript tests, and 5 remote-helper tests. Both packages were installed and verified with live local/remote reads, draft retention, search, view switching, safe text rendering, and layout. These checks also passed on the installed Developer ID signed Mac build with hardened runtime enabled. Prompt-delivery tests used controlled transports rather than active user agents.
