Rescue Fix — Your Old Buddy, Exactly As You Remember

Rescued CC buddies now get their exact original species, stats, and eye — not approximations.

What's fixed

  • Species from name: "Gritblob" → Blob, "Shadowcat" → Void Cat. Previously only checked personality text.
  • Exact stat reproduction: Shells out to Bun for wyhash (Claude Code's runtime hash) to reproduce identical stats. Falls back to FNV-1a if Bun isn't installed.
  • Stats persist: Added cc_rescue DB flag so loadCompanion uses the CC-compatible hash on every load, not just during rescue.
  • Top-level userID: Now found where CC actually stores it (.claude.json root, not inside companion object).
  • Security: spawnSync instead of execSync for Bun hash — no command injection possible.

Upgrade

Re-run the installer:
