New since the public 0.4.11 preview

• Screenshots enabled throughout the app. Visible content can appear in captures; encrypted recording storage remains unchanged.
• All notifications event filter, including silent, grouped, ongoing/foreground and Do Not Disturb-delivered posts. Alerting only remains available for the stricter policy. All mode can request wearable pulses during DND; Android must still deliver the notification to the listener.
• Notification All apps / Selected apps only, default and per-app Short/Double/Triple/Long vibration patterns.
• Manually selected Everyday, Meeting and Music profiles, smart bookmark/play-pause and pause-music → start-recording actions.
• Flashlight toggle, with explicit optional Camera permission.
• Independent four/five-press actions, initially unassigned. Triple-only retains its 650 ms grouping window; assigning four/five extends the fixed window to 950/1250 ms and shorter gestures wait for that window.
• Synchronized notification-policy generation publication with regression coverage.

Notification vibrations remain opt-in and off by default for new installs. Existing settings survive an in-place update. Package exclusions, selected-app rules, duplicate/stale/reconnect fencing and the 1.5-second burst limit remain: not every posted event produces a pulse. Message text is not read, saved or sent to Omi. An existing recording or button-only Omi connection is required; no second BLE connection, replay backlog or phone-vibration fallback.

Also retains offline Vosk drafts, Whisper refinement, encrypted recordings, 15 GB retained PCM quota, RF64 export, calendar/search Library, playback, configurable media/shortcut actions and button-only standby. No Omi account, cloud transcription or Internet permission.

Integrity and verification

Existing signed APK preserved exactly; not rebuilt or re-signed for publication.

Fresh ad-hoc publication checks verify signature/metadata, installed-artifact correspondence, source/model/native hashes and redacted scans of extracted non-model contents and code strings. Models match pinned upstream hashes. APK is non-debuggable and has no Internet permission. BLE/capture/composition host checks were rerun on the public source checkout.

Retained final-candidate evidence: 112 targeted signed-emulator tests, plus a separate 11-test ad-hoc rerun. Counts overlap and are not additive; not a full instrumentation-suite claim. Actual Android screenshots were captured and inspected. Authorized ARM64 in-place installation verified exact APK bytes, signer continuity, data-directory identity, existing permissions and notification access; launch passed, recording left stopped. Android tests were not rerun merely to publish.

Real WhatsApp → Omi vibration, physical four/five cadence, motor patterns, locked-screen/background flashlight and sustained wearable endurance remain separate acceptance checks.

Source and licences

The v0.4.13 source archive contains the corresponding public Android application checkpoint, tests and build scripts. Generated models/native libraries and signing keys are excluded; pinned preparation/build instructions are included. Source provenance binds 254 inputs to the retained candidate. Two existing portable test-tool/documentation variants remain public-only. This is not an independent reproducible-build claim.

Attached: SHA256SUMS.txt, release-manifest.json, THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md and LICENSES.zip. Native libraries/models/packaged licences match the prior reviewed distribution; all accompanying licence texts are preserved. Not affiliated with Omi or Based Hardware.

Changes since the public 0.4.7 preview

• 15 GB retained PCM quota and RF64 support for large WAV exports, plus long-position playback-counter handling.
• Expanded music controls and opt-in experimental triple press, using a 650 ms combined-tap window.
• Notification vibrations: default-off quick double-pulse requests to a connected Omi. Enable in device controls and grant Android notification access. No phone-vibration fallback, disconnected backlog or replay on enable.
• PCM queue-capacity recovery: valid audio encountering a full queue preserves accepted data, marks the loss boundary and recovers without deliberately closing the BLE connection. Missing audio is not reconstructed; this is not a universal BLE-disconnect fix.

Also includes offline Vosk drafts, Whisper refinement, encrypted recording storage, calendar Library, title/transcript search, playback, rename, text/audio export, configurable single/double buttons and button-only standby.

Models match their pinned upstream hashes. The APK is non-debuggable and has no Internet permission.

Retained evidence includes 227 signed-release Android tests and an in-place ARM64 installation with installed-byte verification. Those Android tests were not rerun for this publication. Real-world wearable radio/haptics behaviour and all-day endurance remain separate acceptance work.

This is a binary preview release. Public application source remains at 0.4.7 / build 14. GitHub-generated source archives contain that older application checkpoint and documentation, not matching 0.4.11 application build inputs.

Changes since the previous downloadable preview

• Independently configure single- and double-press functions: recording start/stop, music controls, supported phone shortcuts or no action.
• Button-only BLE connection while recording is stopped, without saving standby audio. Disconnect closes the connection.
• Recording recovery/lifecycle repairs, calendar Library, and offline hybrid transcription using Vosk live drafts and Whisper saved-audio refinement.

Download and installation

Use NotTheOmiAIApp-0.4.7-arm64-v8a.apk for a compatible 64-bit ARM Android phone, Android 8.0/API 26 or later. This release does not include a 32-bit ARM APK. Both speech models are bundled for offline use; the APK is 243,344,963 bytes. Install over the existing same-signature app; do not uninstall to upgrade.

The public tag and automatic source archives contain the curated application source, tests and build tooling, not the models, signing material or private operational evidence. Verification boundary

• Fresh ad-hoc publication checks: complete APK SHA-256; Android v2/v3 signature; package/version/ABI/minimum SDK; non-debuggable status; no INTERNET permission; bundled-model upstream hashes; packaged native libraries bound to pinned inputs; extracted non-model members and printable strings scanned with no secret findings.
• Retained acceptance, not freshly rerun for this upload: 78 debug Android test methods and 28 signed x86_64-release test methods on isolated KVM emulators; ARM64 in-place installation with installed-byte/signing readback.
• Nine host-check entrypoints passed during the separate source publication.
• Physical single/double timing, button-only standby/no saved audio, music-app compatibility, background/locked-screen behavior and sustained wearable reliability remain pending. This is a preview, not physical-wearable certification.

Installation

Android 8.0+ / API26; package app.nottheomi.ai, version code 4. Use arm64-v8a for most modern Android phones, armeabi-v7a for older 32-bit ARM devices, x86_64 for compatible Intel devices/emulators, or universal if unsure. Install over the existing app; do not uninstall to upgrade.

Verification and remaining gate

Existing release evidence: 63 Android 13 emulator tests; 23 controlled capture scenarios; release build and lint passed (0 errors, 25 warnings). These are retained test results, not a newly executed full suite. Publication preflight reverified all four APK hashes, signing certificates, package/version, non-debuggable status and absence of INTERNET permission.

Physical Omi sustained capture and screen-off endurance after this fix are still unverified. Packet gaps/BLE loss can still end a session; earlier committed audio remains saved. Synthetic timing tests are not wearable acceptance.

Checksums, public signing identity and exact private-source commit are recorded in the release manifest. The public tag identifies this downloads-only repository, not the private source tree. No GitHub Actions build is configured here; APKs are the existing locally built and tested artifacts.
