4.4.89 — Dependency refresh and published “agentic” integration/usage guides
Overview
This release is primarily a maintenance + documentation update:
- Keeps Fjell runtime dependencies and the dev toolchain current
- Adds new
guide/documentation aimed at AI-assisted (“agentic”) integration and usage - Tightens repository ignore rules and updates license metadata
No production source files were changed in this range—changes are limited to package metadata, lockfile, docs, and ignore/license files.
What changed
Documentation: new guide/ docs (and they ship in the npm package)
Added a new documentation set under guide/:
guide/index.md— entry point and capability summaryguide/usage.md— API-oriented usage patterns and examples (includescreateOperationContext/contextManagerusage)guide/integration.md— guidance for composing@fjell/libwithin larger Fjell systems (boundary placement, context propagation, pairing with@fjell/types,@fjell/validation,@fjell/logging, etc.)
Packaging change:
.npmignorecontinues to exclude*.mdby default, but now explicitly includesguide/**so these guides are published to npm.
Impact
- Users get clearer, versioned guidance directly from the installed package (helpful for codegen workflows and offline use).
- Slightly larger published package contents due to included guide markdown.
Dependencies and lockfile updates
- Updated
package.jsondependency versions (Fjell libraries and dev tooling). - Regenerated
package-lock.jsonto match the updated dependency set.
Impact
- Consumers benefit from upstream fixes/improvements in the Fjell ecosystem packages.
- Developers should run a clean install (
npm ciornpm install) to pick up the new lockfile state.
Repo hygiene
.gitignoreupdated to cover additional environment/IDE files.LICENSEcopyright notice updated (2026).
Breaking changes
No breaking changes were detected in this release (no public API or runtime code changes in this diff).
Notable notes for maintainers
- The release contains a docs/packaging behavior change: markdown is still generally excluded, but
guide/**is now intentionally published. If your release process validates package contents, ensure the new guides are expected.
