Every brain upgraded
- Claude — Fable 5.1 joins Opus 5, Sonnet 5 and Haiku 4.5. Agent SDK 0.3.268.
- ChatGPT — OpenAI's own endpoint now uses the Responses API, so GPT‑5.6 and GPT‑6 reason and call tools. Any OpenAI‑compatible base URL (OpenRouter, Azure, LM Studio, vLLM) keeps Chat Completions; the model picker lists what the endpoint actually serves.
- Gemini — now the Gemini Developer API with a free Google AI Studio key. Google shut down the consumer "Sign in with Google" Code Assist path in June and calls third‑party reuse of it a terms violation, so that path is gone. Existing Gemini users: paste a key in Settings → Model.
- Ollama — driven over its native API with a real context window (32k, or your model's own baked value), so a freshly pulled model no longer loses its instructions to the 4k default. Every pulled model is listed with tool calling / thinking / vision, context size, and whether it is loaded right now; a model that can't call tools is labelled and the chat warns before you send.
Access level in the chat — on every provider
The Safe / Ask / Full level sits under the message box next to the model and effort, like Claude Code's permission mode; Shift+Tab toggles Safe and Ask (Full is a deliberate pick, never a keystroke). And it now means the same thing whichever model is driving: before this release "Ask" was only enforced on the Claude path — on ChatGPT, Gemini and Ollama a model‑chosen URL, an install or a command module ran without a prompt. Stopping a turn mid‑prompt now stops everything.
Modules
- Notes for Aether on every module — your own instructions, shown to the model beside the tool.
- Aether shapes the request — an API module can let the model choose path, method, query and body against your base URL; it can never leave that host (redirects included), and a key in your base URL is kept on every call.
- Try it — send one test request or run the command once from the editor and see exactly what the model would get, secrets masked.
- Your code connectors (
private/connectors/*.mjs) are modules of their own now: a switch, a name, a description and notes.
Installer
Homebrew 6 support (confirmation, tap trust), a retry after brew update on stale bottles, and a fall‑through to the next route (gem, go, pipx) when one fails — with a diagnosis of what actually went wrong. Corrected recipes: phoneinfoga (homebrew‑core), whatweb (never packaged — the real clone route is shown; new webanalyze module covers fingerprinting), wpscan (tap, then gem).
Windows
Command modules run in PowerShell (never cmd.exe); the installer never spawns .cmd/.ps1 shims (scoop via powershell -File, gem via ruby.exe, pipx via py -m pipx); Scoop routes for nmap, sslscan, nuclei and amass. The Windows installer now contains both x64 and arm64 builds — earlier releases shipped arm64 only.
