Released: 2026-10-21

  • Updates: the update button is smaller: ten amber ticks and the percent while it downloads, then "Update" with a light sweep when it is ready. It keeps one width, and nothing in it moves.
  • Code review: a review fills the window in review mode, with one tree of the changed files at the left. r, the review's band and the title bar button turn it on, and Escape leaves it.
  • Code review: s and w go round past the last and the first file, in a review and in a pull request.
  • Composer: the message text stays centred at any zoom, and the box has a little more padding.

  • Settings: six entries with icons: Appearance, Agents, Workflow, Input, Sync and Privacy. An entry unfolds its sections, and each section shows alone, on a card of its own.
  • Settings: Providers is one card for every agent: your Claude accounts, the OpenRouter key, and Sign in for Codex and Cursor. Signed out, Sync shows Sign in with GitHub or Google.
  • Settings: every choice of a few words is a dropdown, and a message's ⋯ menu and the chat view menu have icons.
  • Themes: Ace Light and Ace Dark are the new default themes. The cream and amber look stays as Ace Warm.
  • Agents: a new Codex session starts in Auto, as Claude Code does. New sessions start in the mode you star, a resumed session goes back to its last mode, and a fork or a handoff keeps its mode, never Bypass.
  • Agents: "Always allow" shows only when the agent offers it.
  • Tasks: the Tasks plugin has Inbox, Board, Table and Split views, and a status bar count of the tasks that need you.
  • Git: one Git plugin page holds the changes, the history, the pull requests and the worktrees. The Code tab shows the files.
  • Plugins: install and update plugins from the marketplace, each version reviewed and signed. A Design plugin draws rectangles, ellipses and text on a canvas.
  • Ace cloud: a session's menu has a Private switch, and Settings, Sync can show this machine's sessions on your other machines.
  • Accessibility: VoiceOver skips decorative icons and reads a text field's placeholder as its label.

Released: 2026-10-20

  • Conversation: a small bar at the bottom right, just above the composer, replaces the column of ticks and the Latest button. It shows which of your messages you are reading ("4/10"), Top, and Latest, which says "3 new" when rows came in while you read further up. A dot on it breathes while the agent works.
  • Your messages: press "4/10" for a list of everything you sent, numbered. Type to find a message. Each row shows what its turn did ("+3 files · $0.14 · 2m · 10:42") and marks a turn that failed or was stopped; a button goes to the next failed one. Pin a message to keep it at the top.
  • Your messages: a row's ⋯ copies the message, puts it back in the composer to send again, or forks: a new session goes on from just before that message, with it in the composer.
  • Chat view: the ⋯ at the top of the list shows only your messages, how tool calls show, and a reading or full width column.
  • Composer: the context meter is back in the model's button group. Settings, Appearance, Context meter picks how it shows: a ring (the default), the share as a number, a line, or the model's button filling.
  • Navigation: plugin pages, the Browser among them, no longer show a Back button named after the place you came from; ⌘[ and ⌘] no longer walk between views.
  • Command palette: ⌘P opens Ace's commands, plugin commands and search results in one place.
  • Plugins: new Email (Gmail), Calendar, Storage (S3), Database (PostgreSQL), Accounts, Clipboard and Fleet plugins. Slack, Sentry and Railway stay off until you turn them on and connect an account. Connections sign in through the browser and keep their tokens in the keychain.
  • Plugins: undo the newest change a plugin tool made. Plugin updates are checked against their signed release, and your own changes to a plugin are kept when it updates.
  • Ace cloud: sign in on each machine, and keep a project's tasks in sync with a board in Ace cloud.

What is new in 0.1.49

Released: 2026-10-19

  • Browser: the Browser view has tabs of your own. Type an address, go back and forward, and open more tabs with +, with no agent. Agents' spaces show next to yours.
  • Browser for agents: on a Mac, Ace no longer closes when an agent opens a page that runs scripts.
  • Tasks plugin: a queue of what needs you, and a board of stages you drag tasks between.
  • Plugins: new Git, Files and Pull requests plugins. A plugin's page shows its settings, the sites it reaches and what it costs, and a plugin tool that writes asks you first.
  • Memory: press RAM in the status bar to see which programs hold the memory, and stop one in two steps.
  • History and Changes: open a diff on the whole window, and long diffs stay inside their card at any zoom.
  • Composer: the mode is an icon next to the model, and the microphone shows its dictation key.
  • Sessions: rows have Rename and Delete, and Archive and Delete ask first. Every code block in an answer has a Copy button.
  • Updates: a press installs the newest release.
  • Sessions: after Ace starts again, a session of Ace's agent on the host comes back with its history, even before the host answers. A session's row shows when it last worked; one whose first turn failed at once showed "2963w".

  • Toasts: the Undo toast after Archive or Delete is at the bottom right. At the top it covered the ⋯ and × of a panel, so a press there did nothing.
  • Terminal: a command has no prompt glyph in front of it, and its output lines up under it. Spacing follows the app's grid.
  • Plugins: a project plugin runs in each local project where it is on.
  • Agents: agents can list sessions and rename them.

What is new in 0.1.47

Released: 2026-10-18

  • Browser for agents: agents now browse with Ace's own engine, the one that draws pages in Ace. Nothing to install: Chrome or Chromium is no longer needed.
  • Browser view: the page of an agent's tab is live, not a picture once a second. A top bar names each space by its session, with back, forward, reload and the address.
  • Take over: while an agent works in a page, a bar under it says so, with Take over and Stop. Take over gives you the page: you press, type and go to an address, and the agent waits until you hand it back. Stop ends the agent's turn.
  • Passwords: an agent reads a password field only as dots.
  • First start: a card on the welcome picture goes through Appearance, Providers and Privacy, one step at a time.
  • Terminal: the terminal drawer is more compact, with tabs like the editor's file tabs and fewer buttons.
  • Toasts: a title stays on one line, and the close button has no tooltip.
  • Sidebar: the options menu has the compact look of the project menu.
  • Plugins: Ace runs TypeScript plugins from the plugins folder next to the settings. A plugin can add a page to the rail and a card to the right column, each plugin has its own switch, and agents can call its tools.

What is new in 0.1.45

Released: 2026-10-18

  • Toasts: they sit at the top centre of the window, so they no longer cover a composer. A long title ends in an ellipsis, and Undo works every time.
  • Browser view: while an agent works in a page, a glow breathes at its edges and a cursor in the agent's colour moves to what it clicks, with a few words on what it does.
  • Crash reports: the first-start question is a page over the whole window, with a switch for crash reports and one for memory reports.
  • Sidebar: the options button opens List by, Show and Panels as submenus.
  • Release card: its picture is rounded at the top, like the card.

What is new in 0.1.44

Released: 2026-10-18

  • Terminal: the drawer is a card with a tab per folder, and the tabs follow the session in front. Drag its grip to resize it, or maximize it.
  • Terminal: chips over the commands show the folder (press it to go to another folder or worktree), the branch with its commits to push and pull, the lines changed, and the session. Find and Clear sit on the right.
  • Terminal: each command is a card with its time and exit code. A failed command can ask its session to fix it. Run again, Copy and Stop are on the card, and a local server shows its address.
  • Terminal: grey text offers a command you ran before (→ takes it), ↑ walks your history, and Tab lists branches, files, past commands and flags.
  • Terminal: a new tab offers what the folder runs (Cargo.toml, package.json, justfile, Makefile, go.mod) and what you run there most.
  • Crash reports: at first start, Ace asks once whether to send crash and memory reports. Settings, Privacy has the switch. Nothing is sent before you say yes.
  • Browser view: laid out as a browser, with a tree of tabs, a search, a strip of spaces and an agent bar.
  • Archive and Delete: they go at once, with Undo in a toast that now looks like the composer.

  • Providers: the 5-hour and weekly meters of each Claude account show again. Ace asked Anthropic for them on every visit, so Anthropic refused for about an hour. Ace now asks at most once in five minutes per account, waits as long as Anthropic asks, keeps the last numbers in view meanwhile, and does not ask for a folder on the same login as another.
  • Terminal: the status bar button is the icon alone.

  • Terminal: ⌘J (Ctrl-J on Linux and Windows) opens the terminal, as in VS Code, Cursor and Zed. It rises from the status bar, where a Terminal button shows or hides it, and the sessions above stay in use.
  • Sidebar: the status dot takes the time's place at the end of a row, with no gap.
  • Archive: the session menu asks you to confirm with a second press, with no dialog, and a toast at the bottom right offers Undo.
  • New session: a new session stays off the sidebar until you send. Go to another session and press + again, and your setup and text are still there.
