AnkiDroid Quest 18
Choose Aki, Ankilope, or no study companion in Settings → AnkiQuest → Account → Study companion. Your choice syncs across devices after the AnkiQuest server is updated. To install this release, open Settings → AnkiQuest → Maintenance → Check for updates, or download the APK below.
AnkiDroid with AnkiQuest: study, shared goals, and progress in one place.
This update introduces a native Today screen and four consistent destinations: Today, Friends, Progress, and Decks. Start studying from your actual local due cards, find invitations and active friend goals immediately, and revisit a quiet session recap. Your deck library, card browser, statistics, import, and sync remain available. You can choose Decks as your starting screen in Settings.
Friends includes quick challenge presets and direct accept/decline controls. Activity keeps invitations and encouragement together, and notifications open their related message or goal. Update the server to this companion release for 90-day Activity history, saved read status, challenge notifications, profile pictures, and shared reminder settings. Older servers retain their existing 7-day notification inbox; local studying remains available offline.
Decks now includes a review heatmap with daily details and direct links to the cards you studied. Optional profile pictures appear on the website and in widgets. Personal reminder and notification settings follow the same member account across the app and website.
Private servers use your saved member token and automatically sign the embedded website into your own account. A shared website password provides shared viewing access; personal controls require a member token. Private views and pending actions stay tied to their member account. Earned XP, achievements, and scoring rules are unchanged.
Installs next to the official AnkiDroid as "AnkiDroid Quest". Log in to AnkiWeb and sync to get your cards, then fill in Settings → ankiquest (server URL, player, token). Later releases are offered inside the app.
Study uploads contain review history (card id, timestamp, previous interval, time taken, and review type), never card content. Social actions send the invitation or message you choose to share.

AnkiDroid Quest 13
AnkiDroid with ankiquest support: XP, combo, quest and level feedback while reviewing, and the leaderboard from the star button on the deck list.
This update supports private AnkiQuest servers. Leaderboard and profile requests use your saved member token, and the embedded website signs in automatically. Your token stays out of website links. Existing public servers remain supported.
Update the app before your server administrator enables private mode. Keep your personal member token in Settings → ankiquest; the shared website password is for browser access, not uploads or personal account controls.
Installs next to the official AnkiDroid as "AnkiDroid Quest". Log in to AnkiWeb and sync to get your cards, then fill in Settings → ankiquest (server URL, player, token). Later releases are offered inside the app.
Only review log rows (card id, timestamp, previous interval, time taken, review type) are sent to the ankiquest server, never card content.
AnkiDroid Quest 12
AnkiDroid Quest 12 fixes the leaderboard widget's totals and progress bars.
- Widget XP totals now match the selected period: hour, day, week, month, year, or all time.
- Bar lengths use that same period, so they agree with the displayed totals and ranking.
- The fix applies to both widget styles and retains a weekly fallback for older server data.
Download AnkiDroid-Quest.apk below to install or update AnkiDroid Quest. The signed universal APK supports all four CPU architectures and installs alongside the official AnkiDroid app.
For a new installation, log in to AnkiWeb and sync your cards, then configure the server URL, player, and token in Settings → ankiquest.
AnkiDroid Quest 11
AnkiDroid Quest 11 improves notification delivery and includes recent AnkiDroid fixes.
- Added Message and study alerts and Nudge alerts under Settings → ankiquest, with shortcuts to Android's sound, vibration, and banner settings.
- Improved alert defaults for new installations while preserving existing Android notification preferences.
- Pending messages now survive time offline or disabled notification permissions. Granting permission or returning from alert settings refreshes the inbox.
- Inbox delivery continues if the leaderboard or widget fails, and temporary network or server failures are retried. A muted notification category no longer blocks later inbox items.
- Reply confirmations and errors update silently without another alert.
- Includes fixes for fullscreen review touch alignment, filtered-deck creation errors, and deck-list message positioning.
Download AnkiDroid-Quest.apk below to install or update AnkiDroid Quest. This universal APK supports all four CPU architectures and installs alongside the official AnkiDroid app.
If alerts remain silent after updating, open Settings → ankiquest → Message and study alerts or Nudge alerts and adjust the existing Android notification settings.
For a new installation, log in to AnkiWeb and sync your cards, then configure your server URL, player, and token in Settings → ankiquest.
AnkiDroid Quest 9
New in 9:
- Deck sharing is a tree: subdecks are indented under their parent, a chevron folds a branch away, ticking a deck ticks everything under it, and a button re-applies a deck's answer to its subdecks.
- Settings → ankiquest has a switch for nudges: hear when a place on the leaderboard, your best day or the next level is within reach. At most one of each a day, only while you are awake and have already studied.
Needs a server running the matching version.
