Faster browsing and search

  • Virtual scrolling across task lists, project tables, Kanban boards, timelines, and search results keeps large task collections responsive.
  • Fuzzy search finds tasks even with typos or unfinished words. Results highlight matching text and show relevant subtask, description, and comment context.

Tasks and subtasks

  • Subtasks now appear as individual cards in task lists and calendars. Edit their dates, tags, priority, and status directly.
  • Drag tasks under other tasks, move subtasks between parents, or promote them to independent tasks.
  • Group and sort tasks by source note or linked notes, and filter out specific tags.
  • Write and edit multiline Markdown comments.

Analysis

  • Explore task completion, deadlines, recorded time, and project progress in the new Analysis section. It also includes task age and dependency views.
  • Choose a period and filter by project, tag, or priority. Select chart data to inspect the tasks and time entries behind it.

Abyss Tasks 2.0 is a ground-up rewrite: a full task management interface for the Markdown tasks in your vault. Markdown stays the source of truth, and every change is written back to your notes.

Fully compatible with the Tasks plugin. Abyss Tasks reads and writes the same emoji format, so your existing tasks work as they are and both plugins can be used side by side.

What's inside

  • Tasks. Lists, tags and an inbox over tasks written anywhere in your notes, with sorting, grouping, filters, search and bulk edits.
  • Calendar and time blocks. Day, week and month views. Drag to schedule, resize to set duration, stretch a task across several days.
  • Projects. Notes as projects, shown as an editable table, a Kanban board or a timeline, with configurable properties and statuses.
  • Task details. Subtasks, descriptions, comments, links and file attachments.
  • Related tasks. Dependencies between tasks, linked by drag or search, with blocked state shown on the task.
  • Recurring tasks. A recurrence editor, with upcoming occurrences shown on the calendar.
  • Time tracking. Start and pause from any task, with tracked totals per task and per project.
  • Statuses and priorities. Custom statuses with icons and colors, five priority levels.
  • Tags. Groups, colors, pinning, archiving and vault-wide rename.
  • Quick capture. Add tasks to any note or project, with Templater support for new notes.
  • Shortcuts. Configurable keyboard shortcuts.
