Updated FlyWire gustatory receptor neuron (GRN) annotations to match Tastekin et al., "The complete gustatory connectome of adult Drosophila reveals how taste guides feeding, foraging, and social behavior", Cell (2026). Thanks to @amthedev for flagging the issue in #7.
This release includes:
- labellar bristle GRNs retyped into
LB1a–e,LB2a–c,LB3a–dandLB4a–b; theLB1a,LB1d,LB2a-bandLB2dtypes no longer exist cell_sub_classof labellar bristle GRNs now gives the putative taste modality (bitter,glutamate,water,sugar,sugar/low_salt,high_salt/heavy_metal,putative_aversive,putative_attractive)- leg ascending GRNs renamed from
SA_VTV_*toLgAG1–9(old names are kept in thesynonymscolumn) - a few smaller fixes (
sidefor two leg GRNs,CB4146reclassified as taste peg)
Warning
If you used the old sugar/water sub-class (e.g. to stimulate "sugar" GRNs in simulations), note that it also contained water-sensing (LB3a) and aversive high-salt/heavy-metal (LB3d) neurons. LB1e is no longer annotated as bitter.
If you use annotations from this version, please also cite Tastekin et al. (2026). See the README for the full citation list; it now points to the published version of Berg et al. (Cell, 2026).
