Forsetti Windows SDK v0.2.0

The Windows SDK is now available as a native x64 Debug/Release distribution. Install the SDK outside your application's tracked source tree, read the complete CONSUMPTION_POLICY.md, and consume find_package(ForsettiFramework CONFIG REQUIRED).

The SDK contains exactly three compiled products: Forsetti::ForsettiCore, Forsetti::ForsettiPlatform, and Forsetti::ForsettiHostTemplate. Both configurations include their matching static libraries, 34 public headers, relocatable installed CMake metadata, complete policy/license/notices, consumer documentation, canonical host/app/UI/service scaffolds, and PowerShell generation/integration tools.

The framework, SDK, CMake project, vcpkg manifest, and runtime version remain aligned at 0.2.0. Runtime corrections preserve scoped service interface types and the user's desired activation selection across graceful shutdown. Normal explicit deactivation and entitlement reconciliation continue to persist the resulting selection. Compiler-dependent manifest registration in native test helpers was corrected, and regression coverage was added.

Requirements and scope

  • Windows x64, C++20, Visual Studio 2022 with MSVC 19.44.35223.0 / v143 and Windows SDK 10.0.26100.0.
  • Debug uses /MDd and iterator debug level 2; Release uses /MD and iterator debug level 0. Select only Debug;Release configurations and keep exception, RTTI, native wchar_t, and JSON ABI settings aligned with the manifest.
  • nlohmann_json::nlohmann_json 3.12.0 is a separately installed prerequisite. The pinned vcpkg baseline resolves nlohmann-json 3.12.0#2. This archive is not an offline dependency bundle.
  • Host scaffolding supplies app-owned native Win32 presentation through public view factories. It does not supply a complete WinUI renderer. The shared-database starter is manifest-only, without a database implementation.

Verification evidence

The archive was built from the clean tagged source revision and tested after extraction and relocation to an independent path containing spaces and non-ASCII characters. Its original SDK source/build directories were unavailable during consumer verification, and the declared prerequisite was installed separately.

The release assets include the exact verification report and supporting command logs. Verification covers 212 native repository tests in each of Debug and Release; the complete local guardrail workflow; 35 consumer-tool fixtures under each of PowerShell 7 and Windows PowerShell 5.1; all 34 public headers compiled independently in both configurations; Core-only linking/execution; generated host discovery, registration, denied entitlement, service/app activation, framework events, the shared UI/app slot, visible native app/UI windows, file-backed activation state and shutdown/reboot restoration; integration/shipping checks; and rejection of unsupported dependencies/configurations/CRT/architecture and malformed/tampered payloads.

Repeated assembly from the same built libraries produced identical payload and ZIP bytes. Independent MSVC rebuild byte identity is not claimed.

Native repository configurations were verified sequentially. An attempted simultaneous run failed; existing fixtures share fixed temporary directory names, and the exact Release process-crash cause was not independently isolated. Parallel configuration-suite execution is not claimed. See the retained logs and verification limitations.

Downloads

  • Forsetti-Windows-SDK-0.2.0-x64.zip: the installed SDK distribution.
  • SHA256SUMS: SHA-256 checksums for the attached distribution and evidence files.
  • sdk-manifest.json: source revision, toolchain/ABI, dependencies, complete inventory and file hashes, policy hash, and verification summaries. The same manifest is inside the SDK ZIP.
  • Verification-Results.json: executed checks and the tested-payload/final-release archive relationship.
  • Verification-Evidence.zip: supporting native build/test, guardrail, baseline regression, consumer, and assembly logs.
