Immutable release. Only release title and notes can be modified.

A skill release. The brain format (version: 7), bf.yaml, the reply schemas and the search cache are unchanged. Upgrade with uv tool upgrade brain-framework (or update a brain's pin), then run bf skills DIR to install bf-action and update bf-use.

Added

  • A fourth packaged skill, bf-action, starts, resumes, hands off and closes a tracked work session. Invoking it with a topic, such as /bf-action website-review in Claude Code, is the request to start that action: the agent resumes an open action on that topic or, when none exists, finds the owning project, creates actions/YYYY-MM-DD_website-review/ACTION.md and fills its Context, TODO and Resume, with no need for wording such as "start an action". The action guide, the working-context and handoff guides, new-action.py, check-handoff.py and the action template move from bf-use to bf-action; bf-use keeps retrieval and writing knowledge back.

Upgrade: run bf skills DIR to install bf-action and update bf-use, which removes the moved files. If you edited any bf-use file, the folder reads modified and stays unchanged: back up your edits, then rerun with --force, which keeps edited files the new version no longer ships. A Claude Code SessionStart hook that runs bf-use/scripts/check-handoff.py must point at bf-action/scripts/check-handoff.py. bf init now names both skills in the brain's AGENTS.md; merge that line as Refresh brain instructions shows.
