LAMMPS itself (brew install lammps) is needed only for running simulations, not for viewing trajectories.

What's new since 0.6.0

• Inspector ▸ Z-profile: numeric depth axis, labeled surface-plane marker, chart tooltip; Export CSV… / Export Excel… of the last frame
• Inspector toggle is now a full-size toolbar button
• MCP remote execution: declare hosts in ~/.mdengine/hosts.json, then submit_lammps host=…, list_hosts, fetch_job; explicit cancelled job state
• Release tooling: make_dmg.sh signs + notarizes + staples the DMG; new make_tools.sh packages the signed CLI + MCP server
