This is a big release, even though it may not look like it.

Note: To take advantage of the enhanced update blocking in Stasis 2.0, you'll need to toggle updates on and off if you're migrating from Stasis 1.x.

Features:

  • A restart is no longer required to fully apply changes, all you need to do is press the toggle button now.
  • Stasis now prevents beta profiles from installing if updates are being blocked.
  • Stasis now will override any installed beta profiles if one is installed, effectively disabling it and allowing update blocking to work.
  • Stasis now writes to /var/Managed Preferences to support the features mentioned above and to have a more reliable means of blocking updates.

Changes:

  • If toggling fails, the error message will re-appear if you toggle the button again.
  • Getting the current state of updates being enabled/disabled should now be more reliable.
  • An extra line has been added on the bottom stating that Stasis is incompatible with other update blockers.
  • Alerts now have more descriptive titles.

Internal:

  • I've completely refactored the code for better organization and more modularity.
  • Overall, everything should be more reliable as a result, but do let me know if you run into any issues.

Since I got another Apple TV, I can also now verify that this... actually works below tvOS 26, and I've updated the README accordingly.
