A reliability release: 29 bug fixes from @nytron88 (#14, #15), and the project now lives under the forge-agentic org.

Repository moved

  • The repo is now forge-agentic/forge. Old Ddundee/forge links redirect.
  • The Homebrew tap moved to forge-agentic/homebrew-forge. New installs:
    brew tap forge-agentic/forge
    brew install forgecli

Fixes

Sessions & logs

  • sessions skips unreadable session databases instead of aborting the list
  • sessions shows unknown instead of NaNd ago for bad timestamps
  • Loading a bad session id no longer creates an empty session.db
  • loadLast skips directories without a session database
  • logs reports an unknown session id instead of a raw sqlite open error
  • logs colors DEPLOY and DONE phase events
  • CLI only suggests resume when a session actually exists

Overseer & agents

  • Overseer queues fix tasks from errors when no failures are listed
  • Overseer keeps project dotfiles when merging task workspaces
  • extractJson picks the first fenced block that parses
  • Verification no longer crashes on reports missing failed/errors keys
  • Task graph dedupes dependencies and drops self-references
  • Clearer errors when leaving a terminal phase and when selectForAgent has no AutoSelector
  • AutoSelector strips quotes and backticks from the chosen model id

Claude Code / Codex engines

  • watch decodes UTF-8 safely across read boundaries and resumes after the transcript is truncated
  • prompts --follow no longer skips partially written lines
  • Prompt log captures text from multi-part user messages
  • Codex: .forge-task.md is always cleaned up; checkCodexInstalled times out instead of hanging setup

Config, tools & safety

  • keys.env tolerates export prefixes, spacing, and quotes
  • config.toml validates max_cycles and priority
  • Models cache is written atomically and falls back to the stale cache when the fetch fails
  • bash_exec falls back to the default timeout on invalid input
  • list_dir no longer throws on dangling symlinks
  • The safety blocklist catches rm -fr variants alongside rm -rf
  • Deploy reports timeouts separately from deploy failures
