KithMoot Android 0.4.0 (debug-signed)

Android 0.4.0 adds persistent groups compatible with the web app. People can join while every other app is closed, then return using their encrypted saved membership. A background keeper is no longer needed for basic group admission and recovery.

• New rooms default to groups, with temporary meetings available as an option.
• Group creation and link replacement confirm relay storage before sharing the link.
• Signed retirement is checked before new admission. Replacing a link preserves existing members and room authority.
• Group members receive no inviter signing key. Paired devices keep their separate credential expiry.

This is an installable debug-signed preview, version code 6, for Android 8.0+ on arm64-v8a and x86_64. It retains the certificate of the website and v0.3.0 preview. An emulator accepted an update from the previously published APK. The older GitHub v0.2.2 asset used a different certificate and cannot update in place; keep that installation if you need its local state.

Validation covers 232 unit tests, debug/release lint and builds, web/native cryptographic compatibility, and 12 API 35 emulator checks including encrypted storage, forced process restarts, group link replacement, retired links, chat and screen viewing. The APK passes signature verification and 16 KB ZIP alignment. SHA256SUMS is included.

Stored admission depends on relay retention and availability. Link retirement cannot erase copied keys. Later room epochs, managed removal, mobile push, physical-device/TalkBack acceptance and production signing remain separate work.
