Prompt Launcher 1.3 (beta)

Email now opens in your email app, just like texts

  • New mail from any email app (Gmail, Spark, Samsung Email, Outlook, Yahoo, Proton and more) shows on the home screen card and in the hub's email tab
  • The home card counts new mail next to texts, e.g. "2 texts · 3 new mail"
  • Tapping an email opens that exact email in its app
  • Mail (the home button or the mail command) opens your main email app
  • Email notifications stay in your notification shade, so read status stays in sync
  • email <name> still writes a new email, in Prompt (Gmail) or in the app you choose under Settings → noti → COMPOSE EMAIL IN
  • Replying from ⚡ quick reply works for email apps whose notifications have a Reply button
  • New EMAIL step in onboarding to pick your email apps. The first one you pick is your main app
  • Prompt's in-app email viewer has been removed. Email opens in your email app instead

Texting hands off to your messaging app

  • @name message + Enter sends the text and opens that conversation in Google Messages, Samsung Messages, etc.
  • Tap a name in the suggestions to lock that contact in. The > becomes a red @ and you type only your message. Backspace on an empty prompt or Back unlocks it
  • @@ group texts: tap people to add them, then press Enter to open the group, or type a message to send it to everyone
  • Tapping a conversation in the hub, or "text" on a call, opens it in your messaging app
  • Texts sent from Prompt go out as regular SMS/MMS, not RCS chat

Finding apps

  • New apps chip next to chrome and claude. With it selected, typing an app name and pressing Enter opens that app. Your choice is remembered
  • The app list takes the place of the command legend, so nothing on screen shifts
  • . now only opens the full app list (press Enter). Backspace closes the prompt

Settings

  • Fixed: turning off the search picker now actually hides the chips
  • Choose which chips appear (chrome / claude / apps) under Settings → home screen → search picker
  • Settings → noti now has EMAIL APPS and COMPOSE EMAIL IN

Updating from 1.2

Install over your current version. Your settings are kept. Onboarding doesn't run again, so set your email apps in Settings → noti → EMAIL APPS.

The first time you text from the prompt, Android asks to let Prompt send SMS.
