autocomplete for aura (AUR pkg)

Hey, is there any autocompletion for AUR pkg inside aura (like "sudo aura -A vim-g" expand to "sudo aura -A vim-git" and all other possibilities)?

There are completions for -S but not for -A. This may change in future.

I should add, it would require a network query every time you hit <Tab>, but if your internet is fast it shouldn't be an issue, or it might be a compromise you're willing to take. Anyway, such blocking interactions, if added in future, must be configurable to let user disable potentially unwanted network access. Also, should do basic network testing, like nmcli networking connectivity instead of silently waiting for timeout when network is down.

For example, Python's pip command has an completion module which accesses the internet, and if you trigger it, your shell might hang for tens of seconds (or until Ctrl+C interrupt). Not the best UX in my opinion.

Yeah I think I get the point ratijas. I can't comment on you're comment sadly but hey :-D My thinking was just it would be easier if you have very long pkg to just type and autocomplete :-D but true if it's lagging or anything that would be by far worst than just type 2 sek :-D

With locally stored lists of AUR packages we could at least autocomplete off of those very quickly.

You do realize that AUR is a very fast-moving target, right?

Yes of course. Rust Aura keeps local clones of AUR package repos, so I'm saying it could autocomplete off those (for the ones it actually does have). I'm not intending to sync the entire AUR or keep a separate DB to store such information.
