Refresh submission

We are currently testing whether Classroom is picking up student submissions correctly. I am testing with one of our TAs. When I test from my own account, if I accept the assignment and submit a file to the repo, it does not appear in the submission list, nor does it pick up any submission data.

When the TA tests it, Classroom does not show that he accepted the assignment, and it also does not pick up any of his submissions—even after I manually click Refresh Submissions to sync the data.

Has any change been made recently? It was working normally when we tested it last month.

A lot of things have changed in the past few weeks. Please describe in detail how you set up the assignments.

@Zero0927 If your org doesn't have much student data, it might be easier if you could invite me to your org as an owner so that it's easier for us to troubleshoot things.

Thank you for the quick response. We normally manually grade students' submissions once per week, so we get auto-collected once a week. This is what was successful last month: we have the user click the URL to populate their repo and submit some files; the page picks up the submission, which is exactly what we want.

This is what happened this week. Regardless of how many submissions students made, it does not pick up anything. I checked the refresh submissions button, and it still gives nothing.

HOS03 was configured to be Submitted by tag. Did shinoacute indeed have any tagged submissions (tagged commit)?

Thanks for pointing that out. This seems to work. I need to set the submission type to Every push to the default branch. However, I did want to report the bug: HOS1 is a catch-all submission even if it has a tagged commit.

The HOS3 did pickup the commits, but the assignments UI did not indicate the submissions.

@Zero0927 Thanks for the screenshots. We have shipped a few improvements to the assignments list, submission, and collect score workflows. Please try again now, and make sure you run the collect score workflow for the assignment you’re monitoring to see if the submission indicator correctly reflects the submissions.

Thank you. I saw the changes today; however, the UI still doesn’t show the assignment as submitted. I can work with it for now since the assignment is correctly picking up student commits.
