On the last day, one short reminder appears with a Start trial link.

When the free days are over, Yap says so plainly: the overview holds one button to start your 10-day trial, and pressing your shortcut takes you straight there. A failed payment or an ended plan works the same way, with the one button that fixes it.

Yap now tells your account on which days it finished a dictation and how many. Never what you said: no audio, no text, no app names.

Yap now works the moment you install it. A new installation dictates for 3 days with no account and no card: open Yap, hold your shortcut and speak. Your free days start the first time you open it, while you are online.

When you want to keep going, open Account and choose Start 10-day trial. Your browser opens to sign in, add a card and connect this PC. The trial renews at USD 6.90 a month or USD 69 a year unless you cancel before it ends.

Yap 0.7.39 for Windows

Escape no longer throws your words away. Press Esc while recording, or while Yap is still processing, and Yap stops and keeps the recording in History instead of typing it. Your audio is saved on your PC first, so even if transcription fails or the app quits, the recording waits in History with a Transcribe button.

Once the text is ready it replaces the recording, and the audio file is deleted. Changed your mind? Press Esc a second time while Yap is saving, and the recording is discarded completely.

Esc right after you start, before you have said anything, still simply cancels. The ✕ button on the microphone works the same way as Esc.
