This is the first release of FTP Backup Tool — a utility for automating data backup and uploading to an FTP server.

Key Features:

  • Local Backup: Create local backups of specified folders, organized by date.
  • FTP Upload: Automatically upload backups to an FTP server with directory creation as needed.
  • Old Backup Cleanup: Remove backups older than 30 days (both locally and on the FTP server).
  • Logging: Log all actions for easy monitoring and troubleshooting.

Installation

  1. Download the code from the repository or this release archive.
  2. Configure the parameters in main.py (local directories, FTP credentials, etc.).
  3. Run the script: python main.py.

Planned Improvements:

  • Add SFTP support for secure file transfers.
  • Integrate notifications via Telegram and Email.
  • Develop a graphical user interface (GUI) for configuration and execution.
