Dark by default, and a resolver that gets out of the way
- Appearance. The app is dark by default now. Settings → Appearance → Theme offers
dark, lightandsystem(follow the phone); a change applies the moment it is saved. - Public domain names. The resolver moves to fips-pub-domains 0.2.6. A name whose answer the app already knows — a domain decided earlier, a record type that is never over fips — is answered without a parallel query to your DNS server; one that needs deciding still gets its ordinary answer as soon as one upstream has denied the record, now also when that denial was DNSSEC-validated.
- The README's screenshots are fresh, and the feature list finally names public domain names; the Zapstore listing text was updated with 0.9.4 already.
No new permissions. Installing over 0.9.4 keeps identity and settings.
The theme switch was checked on a Pixel 9 Pro; the resolver changes in this release have run on the host test suite only.
Which APK
Most phones: fips-android-v0.9.5-arm64-v8a.apk. The -universal.apk carries all three ABIs for a first install when unsure; the in-app updater picks the per-ABI one.
