Raft Ocean 0.13.8 preview
Raft Ocean 0.13.8 is a preview pre-release for Minecraft Java 26.3. It includes the development updates since 0.13.0 and keeps the story open-ended.
Requirements and installation
- Minecraft Java 26.3, NeoForge 26.3.0.48-beta, 64-bit Java 25.
- Install only raft_ocean-0.13.8.jar in
mods. Remove older Raft Ocean JARs. - Every multiplayer client and server must use 0.13.8 (movement handshake13.8).
- Optional JEI: 31.9.0.58 for Minecraft26.3/NeoForge; install separately.
- Sources JAR and addon SDK are for developers. Minecraft, NeoForge, Java and JEI are not bundled.
- Back up existing worlds/configs before updating. Create an Ocean World for raft survival; larger island generation appears only in new chunks.
Added since 0.13.0
- Battery-powered Raft Juicer: four food portions, Blend/Pause/Serve controls, saved batches, separate glass serving, three original drinks, reusable glasses, custom models, recipe data and optional JEI links.
- Salvage Compactor: mixed surplus materials become tradeable bales, with five new outpost purchases and saved-stock migration.
- Deliberate single-batch cooking, saved queue/progress and an automatic-processing compatibility option.
- Wind-limited shared sail drive, engine foundation-load bands and clearer navigation feedback. User-selected engine/sail/paddle base speeds remain1.5/1.0/1.8m/s.
- Mounted survey receiver, three-antenna setup, battery power, radar and a persistent expedition notebook with28field notes.
- Seven original story schematic discoveries, eight gated advanced projects, harder material-study batches and larger staged story islands. Earlier learned research is retained; the story remains open-ended.
- Configurable ten-minute shark/five-minute bird delays and Peaceful protections retained. Addon API3 retained.
Downloads
- raft_ocean-0.13.8.jar — playable client/server mod.
- raft_ocean-0.13.8-sources.jar — source attachment for developers; do not install in
mods. - raft_ocean-0.13.8.zip — playable JAR, sources, installation, changelog, known limits, guides, configuration examples and addon source examples.

Verification
The published runtime JAR is the tested artifact from source commit55ce5c7f275b4ee3703e04d525647605e158e86b; SHA256:
1c83d0e4157438c58f03865d471e3ae1c41690fb933014d3b5f2e6694f3874b2
Full build/bootstrap passed; fresh Ocean World checks passed9,873assertions, including127juicer assertions. Crafting263,891, research784, movement/collision, models, localization and package checks passed. Native parser accepted966models; package coverage is172items/787blocks/7entity renderers. SDK compilation and ZIP/checksum integrity checks passed. This does not establish bug-free live gameplay.
Known limits
- Live GUI/JEI appearance, real co-op latency, older user saves, large-raft performance and full survival balance still need playtesting. Earlier reported movement/collision issues require user confirmation; rotating collision uses conservative axis-aligned approximations.
- Juicer uses native portable batteries. Wired/foreign power, bonus-water reserves and invalid-recipe leftovers are absent. Glasses are intentionally reusable; dismantling spills an unserved drink.
- Coins, trading reputation/special fish and a recycling JEI category remain future work. Cooking retains existing two-food/water/bowl recipes, without four-food cooking pads or post-cooking bowl collection.
- Foreign machines need dedicated moving-raft adapters. No universal technology-mod compatibility is claimed. NeoForge itself is beta.
- New island sizes affect newly generated chunks. The seven-destination story intentionally remains unresolved.
All models, lore and sounds are original. No Raft game assets or text are bundled. See the included CHANGELOG.md, KNOWN_ISSUES.md and RELEASE_VERIFICATION.md for details.
Raft Ocean 0.13.0 preview
Raft Ocean 0.13.0 preview expands support for addon developers with API v3 and a standalone starter SDK.
Highlights
- Connect addon machines to power, fresh-water and biofuel networks, including wide and rotated footprints.
- Preflight and commit item/resource batches without spending supplies when outputs are blocked.
- Request generator power when a machine is ready and opt into output-only quick collection with extraction locks.
- Fixed generic addon menu shift-click merges bypassing insertion rules.
- Added the sediment washer example, full API guides, and independently buildable SDK.
- Existing v1/v2 API methods and saved IDs are retained. The story stays open-ended.
Requirements and installation
Minecraft Java 26.3, NeoForge 26.3.0.48-beta, and Java 25.
Install raft_ocean-0.13.0.jar in the client and server mods folders. All multiplayer peers must update together. Back up existing worlds before updating. Optional development JEI version: 31.9.0.58.
- raft_ocean-0.13.0.zip: mod plus installation instructions, documentation and example addon source.
- raft-addon-sdk-0.13.0.zip: standalone addon starter with Gradle wrapper, API dependency, sources, examples and documentation.
- raft_ocean-0.13.0-sources.jar: development sources; do not install as a mod.
- SHA256SUMS.txt: checksums for the four main downloads.
Verification and remaining testing
The existing local verification run passed the build and server boot with the example addon loaded: 69 API and 13 example assertions, plus movement, collision, construction, crafting, survival and other server suites. The final SDK archive was freshly extracted and built with its own wrapper. Package checksums, ZIP integrity, manifest hashes and all 172 Java source files were checked again before publication.
This is a preview. Live client rendering, large rafts, multiplayer latency and third-party addon combinations still need playtesting. World/story checks are carried forward from 0.12.4; this update does not change world generation. See RELEASE_VERIFICATION.md and KNOWN_ISSUES.md in the release bundle for details.
