Releases: frames-sg/jxr
Release list
v0.2.1
Aligns the exact J2K dependencies with published J2K 0.11.3 so applications can use its native JPEG 2000 tag-tree fix alongside JPEG XR. Decoder source and public signatures are unchanged.
Published packages: jxr-core, jxr-native, jxr-metal, jxr-cuda, jxr, jxr-image, and jxr-mpsgraph 0.2.1. jxr-math remains at 0.1.0.
Validation for the tagged source:
- Hosted checks
- Metal hardware validation
- CUDA hardware validation
- CPU, Annex-A writer, Metal, and CUDA reference comparisons each passed 517 in-scope cases, with 179 declared out of scope and no failures. This is differential evidence, not a claim of complete conformance.
JXR 0.2.0
JXR 0.2.0 updates the shared J2K types and support crates to the published 0.11.2 release used by wsi-rs. The J2K upgrade changes the public BackendKind, BackendRequest, and Rect types re-exported by jxr-core, so all seven affected public crates move to 0.2.0.
This release integrates the CPU entropy decoding and SIMD output-packing changes, Metal kernel and host-submission changes, fearless_simd 1.0.0, and cudarc 0.19.10.
Published at 0.2.0: jxr-core, jxr-native, jxr-metal, jxr-cuda, jxr, jxr-image, and jxr-mpsgraph. The unchanged jxr-math crate remains at 0.1.0. J2K dependencies resolve from crates.io at exactly 0.11.2.
Hosted CI passed formatting, Clippy, workspace and no-default-feature tests, documentation, and fuzz-build checks. The Metal hardware workflow passed CPU, Annex-A writer, Metal, and MPSGraph device-lifecycle checks. Metal validation used the reviewed PR head; the release merge has an identical source tree.
The CUDA hardware workflow passed on the tagged merge, including lifecycle tests, full-corpus and ROI comparisons against CPU, reference comparisons, and the configured benchmark.
The CPU, Annex-A writer, Metal, and CUDA reference comparisons each had 517 passing in-scope cases, 179 declared out-of-scope cases, and no failures. The differential reports and configured benchmark outputs are attached.
JXR 0.1.2 codec patches
Publishes the shared device reconstruction plans used by Metal and CUDA and moves the graph-submission owner to its published crates.io dependency. CPU defaults and public decode contracts remain unchanged.
| Crates | Version |
|---|---|
| jxr, jxr-metal | 0.1.2 |
| jxr-core, jxr-native, jxr-cuda, jxr-image, jxr-mpsgraph | 0.1.1 |
The unchanged jxr-math crate remains at 0.1.0. The graph adapter depends on j2k-mpsgraph-support 0.11.0; other J2K dependencies remain at 0.10.0.
Formatting, Clippy, workspace and no-default-feature tests, documentation, and fuzz-build checks passed. The Metal hardware workflow passed CPU, Annex-A writer, and Metal comparisons: each had 517 passing in-scope cases, 179 declared out-of-scope cases, and no failures. All seven graph-device lifecycle tests passed. Metal validation used the reviewed PR head; the release merge has an identical source tree.
The CUDA hardware workflow passed on the tagged merge commit, including all 517 in-scope reference comparisons, CPU/ROI differential tests, and the configured benchmarks.
JXR 0.1.1 codec patches
Records the existing crates.io releases of jxr 0.1.1 and jxr-metal 0.1.1. Both published packages identify this source commit in their Cargo VCS metadata.
These patches fix non-macOS Metal stubs for all-target Clippy while preserving the ownership contract and decode behavior. Other JXR packages retain their individual versions.
The release documentation records local macOS validation and Clippy targeting x86_64 Linux. Historical hosted Linux and fuzz checks passed; the hosted macOS job failed when Metal tests encountered an unsupported GPU. Metal reconstruction requires an M1-or-newer Apple GPU.
