Our design principles are:

• Directed relationships

  Relationships are represented as two linked directed records. This simplifies the underlying data model and also represents a great truth.

• Permanence of history

  Users and relationships are deactivated before being permanently deleted. This cooling-off period is intended to prevent irreversible loss caused by impulsive decisions while still allowing users to leave the app permanently if they choose to do so.

• Anonymous identities

  Users do not have usernames, email addresses, or other identifying information. Authentication is device-based and recovery is performed through trusted partners rather than traditional identity verification. The community is expanded via invite codes.
