It is a well-known tradition that DOOM runs on everything. Home Assistant has now joined the club.

This custom integration lets you play the original DOOM (1993) directly inside your Home Assistant dashboard. Install it via HACS, drop the card onto a dashboard, and start ripping and tearing.
Highlights:

  • Dashboard card running the real DOOM.EXE via js-dos (DOSBox compiled to WebAssembly)
  • Binary sensor tracking active gameplay with a heartbeat mechanism
  • Session tracking: current player, duration, total play time, sessions played, last played
