Postquel 0.1.0
The first release of Postquel: a fast, native PostgreSQL client for macOS, with an AI assistant that uses the Claude Code, Codex or Cursor account already on your Mac.
Install
Download Postquel.dmg below, open it and drag Postquel to Applications. It's signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without a security warning.
- macOS 15 or later, Apple silicon and Intel
- No Postgres install needed: libpq is included
- For the assistant, install and sign in to Claude Code, Codex or Cursor Agent. Postquel stores no API keys.
What's in it
- Tables: browse and edit rows, follow foreign keys, and switch between Content, Structure and DDL. Structure edits columns, indexes, constraints and notes, and saves them in one transaction after an SQL preview.
- Queries: a SQL editor with highlighting and line numbers; ⌘ Return runs the statement under the cursor. Sort results by clicking a header, see each run's time, and save queries to the sidebar.
- Assistant: ask about your data, or describe a query and get SQL. It reads the real schema and runs read-only queries; changes are only proposed, for you to dry-run and apply.
- Native: SwiftUI and AppKit, Liquid Glass on macOS 26, SSH tunnels, and passwords in your Keychain.
Postquel is a work in progress. Bugs and ideas are welcome in Issues.
